Job summary

Tractebel in Kolkata is seeking a Substation Design Engineer (Electrical) with 12+ years of relevant experience. The role focuses on AIS & GIS substations, protection and control diagrams, and cabling layouts for projects in the consulting domain.

You will prepare and review SLDs, cable schedules, CT/PT sizing calculations, and substation automation reviews, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards. Proficiency in MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience in substation design, preferably in consulting.
• Experience with AIS & GIS substations up to 765kV is preferred.
• Knowledge of protection, control systems, and cabling layouts.
• Familiarity with CT/PT sizing calculations and switchgear drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Substation design deliverables including SLD and one-line diagrams.
• Design cabling layouts, earthing, and protection schemes.
• Review CRP, substation automation, PLCC/FOTE related drawings.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure design compliance and quality.

Job description

We are currently hiring for Substation Design Engineer - Electrical discipline for our Kolkata office. The candidate must have 12+ relevant experience, preferably in consulting domain.

Below are the specifications:

• Experience related to AIS & GIS sub-station up to 765kV (max) is preferred.
• Experience related to auxiliary LVAC and LVDC system design
• Experience related to preparation of cable schedule
• Preparation of Single Line Diagram, Protection One line Diagram, Layout, earthing, lightning, lightning, cabling design calculations and drawings
• Preparation of Cabling layouts
• Design review of all equipment drawings including control schematics
• Design review of CRP scheme and substation automation system
• Design review of PLCC and FOTE system
• Having experience to prepare CT/PT sizing calculation
• Good knowledge of MS office
