Hitachi Energy Technology Services Private Limited in Chennai is seeking a Substation Automation - Secondary Design Engineer to join the GA Secondary team. You will create electrical circuit diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical and support protection and control engineering for substations.

The role requires 5–8 years of experience, a BE or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, and strong knowledge of AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical, along with Protection & Control systems and relevant standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Familiarity with IEC/IEEE/ANSI standards is preferred.
• AutoCAD Electrical tool proficiency is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Single Line Diagrams and Protection Single Line Diagrams.
• Prepare Panel Layouts and BOMs for MV/HV substations.
• Create protection and control schematics for Medium/High Voltage substations.
• Develop Junction Boxes for CT/VT and load calculations; interlocking tables.
• Coordinate with Primary, Project Management, and Production teams as needed.
• Review documents with Lead Engineer before submission.

Your work involves mainly creating electrical circuit diagrams and supporting documents. We use the AutoCAD Electrical tool for generating the schematics. You will be an individual contributor who would deliver the tasks as per the given inputs and when required need to work in coordination with other colleagues and should ex hibit good collaborative skills to complete the task. Selection of Bay Control Unit and other protection IEDs.* Preparation of complete Digital Control & Protection drawings as part of Digital Substation (with NCITs, MU’s, SAM600 modules, etc...).* Configuration Relays and Testing of Relays added advantage.
