Job summary

IKEA Bengaluru is seeking an experienced SAP BTP SME to design, develop, and deliver cloud-native applications on SAP BTP. You will build enterprise-grade solutions using SAP CAP, Node.js, and modern UI frameworks, integrating SAP and non-SAP systems for scalable outcomes.

You will collaborate with solution architects, product owners, and cloud platform teams to deploy on SAP BTP Cloud Foundry, manage APIs, and implement secure, resilient services with CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in application development, with at least 4+ years in SAP BTP.
• Strong expertise in SAP CAP, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST APIs, OData Services.
• Proven experience in developing SAP Fiori/UI5 applications.
• Hands-on with SAP HTML5 Application Repository and connectivity services.
• Knowledge of API-led and microservices-based architectures.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, DevOps, and Agile delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver cloud-native SAP BTP applications.
• Support other engineers to strengthen BTP knowledge.
• Build backend services using SAP CAP, Node.js, OData, and REST APIs.
• Develop responsive UIs using SAP UI5/Fiori and React.js (preferred).
• Deploy and manage apps in SAP BTP Cloud Foundry.
• Design integrations with SAP Integration Suite and external APIs.
• Develop secure apps using IAS, XSUAA, Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth 2.0/SAML.
• Configure SAP Destination Services for connectivity to SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Integrate with Azure, Google Cloud, and third-party SaaS solutions.
• Build notifications, workflows, and automation with SAP BTP services.
• Work with PostgreSQL, Object Store, and cloud storage for data persistence.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and DevOps activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and performance issues.

What you need to know

We are looking for a highly skilled SAP BTP SME to design, develop, and deliver cloud-native applications on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building enterprise applications using SAP BTP services, developing APIs and CAP-based backend services, integrating SAP and non-SAP systems, and delivering modern web and mobile-enabled experiences.

The role requires close collaboration with solution architect, product owners, integration specialists, and cloud platform teams to build scalable solutions that leverage SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, Microsoft Azure, and enterprise APIs.

What you’ll need to have

• 8+ years of experience in application development, with at least 4+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP).
• Strong expertise in SAP CAP, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST APIs, OData Services, SAP Business Application Studio, and Cloud Foundry.
• Proven experience in developing and deploying SAP Fiori/UI5 applications.
• Hands-on experience with SAP HTML5 Application Repository, SAP Destination Service, and connectivity services.
• Strong understanding of API-led and microservices-based architecture principles.
• Experience working with Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with SAP Integration Suite, including iFlows, API Management, and REST/SOAP integrations.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, HANA Cloud or other enterprise-grade databases.
• Knowledge of SAP Build Code, SAP Build Process Automation, SAP Build Work Zone, and application tile configuration.
• Understanding of SAP Joule and AI-powered business applications.
• Experience integrating SAP solutions with Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms.
• Exposure to modern frontend frameworks such as React.js is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across global teams.

As an SAP BTP SME within the BR&C area, you will play a key role in shaping and advancing the organization's compliance and risk management technology landscape. You will leverage SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services and capabilities to design, integrate, and enhance digital solutions that support governance, risk, and compliance processes. Working across business and technology teams, you will help drive innovation through automation, analytics, integration, and modern cloud-native architectures, ensuring BR&C solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards and strategic business objectives.
