• Research resources ensuring relevance to learners' needs and context.
• Review content for accuracy and alignment; coordinate corrections before publish.

Overview

SME Physics & Mathematics will contribute to the development, review, and continuous improvement of secondary-school curriculum and digital learning content. The role requires strong subject knowledge, curriculum alignment, creative lesson planning, and close collaboration with instructional designers and content developers to produce accurate, engaging, age-appropriate, and pedagogically effective learning experiences for Edubee.

Job Description

1. Curriculum Development

• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the secondary-school Physics and Mathematics curriculum.
• Design and develop curriculum materials aligned with relevant national education standards, learning outcomes, and grade-level requirements.
• Break down curriculum objectives into clear learning outcomes, topics, concepts, and lesson sequences.

2. Lesson Planning and Content Creation

• Develop detailed lesson plans that guide the conceptualisation and production of Edubee online educational videos.
• Create accurate, engaging, and age-appropriate story scripts, video concepts, interactive activities, worked examples, and digital lessons.
• Develop high-quality study materials, worksheets, practice questions, assignments, revision resources, and assessment tools for Physics and Mathematics.
• Explain complex concepts using clear language, practical examples, demonstrations, diagrams, problem-solving methods, and real-world applications.
• Research grade-appropriate learning resources and examples, ensuring relevance to learners' needs and context.

3. Content Quality Assurance

• Review content developed by instructional designers and content developers to ensure subject accuracy, clarity, curriculum alignment, and pedagogical quality.
• Maintain a strong quality-control process, identify errors, and coordinate corrections before content is published; work towards zero-defect delivery.
• Participate in rigorous peer reviews and refine content based on expert feedback, learner needs, and assessment outcomes.
• Check calculations, formulae, units, diagrams, graphs, equations, solutions, terminology, and assessment answer keys for accuracy.

4. Stakeholder and Team Coordination

• Coordinate closely with instructional designers, content developers, video production teams, and other internal stakeholders.
• Analyse content requirements, clarify learning objectives, and provide subject-matter guidance throughout the content-development process.
• Manage day-to-day content activities, track progress, resolve content-related issues, and ensure timely delivery across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with the team to develop fresh, creative, and student-centred ways of presenting Physics and Mathematics concepts.

5. Assessment and Continuous Improvement

• Develop formative and summative assessments, quizzes, practice exercises, and question banks that measure learning outcomes.
• Analyse feedback and assessment results to identify gaps, misconceptions, and opportunities to improve content.
• Review, update, and refine existing online learning materials to maintain accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness.

6. Digital Learning and Pedagogy

• Apply student-centred teaching methods and sound instructional-design principles to improve engagement and conceptual understanding.
• Explore and apply appropriate learning technologies, multimedia formats, interactive content, and digital assessment approaches.
• Contribute to content for essential 21st-century life skills, including digital skills and entrepreneurship skills, where relevant.
• Assist in developing guidance and teaching resources for teachers and moderators to support effective classroom and online learning.

7. Research, Documentation, and Reporting

• Stay informed about relevant curriculum updates, subject-specific teaching methods, learning technologies, and best practices in digital education.
• Maintain organised curriculum documents, content inventory sheets, version records, and shared-drive folders.
• Document content reviews, corrections, development progress, and quality-improvement recommendations.
• Manage files and learning resources systematically using Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, and other relevant tools.
• Manage multiple projects and consistently meet agreed deadlines.

2. Experience

• Experience in teaching, curriculum development, academic content creation, or instructional design for secondary-school Physics and/or Mathematics.
• Experience creating lesson plans, assessments, study materials, or digital educational content is preferred.
• Candidates from an EdTech, school-teaching, educational publishing, or digital learning background are preferred.

3. Subject Knowledge and Skills

• Strong command of Physics and Mathematics concepts appropriate to secondary-school levels.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and create accurate, structured, learner-friendly content.
• Understanding of curriculum mapping, learning outcomes, assessment design, and student-centred pedagogy.
• Ability to review content critically and maintain high standards of accuracy and quality.

4. Digital and Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Comfortable using Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, and shared content-management systems.
• Basic IT skills and an interest in educational technology, multimedia learning, and interactive digital content.
• Ability to maintain content trackers, inventory sheets, documentation, and organised digital files.
