Job summary

Synergy Marine Group seeks a seasoned maritime professional to serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Deck Operations. The role targets a Second Officer or Chief Officer with passion for knowledge transfer and development, contributing to engaging learning modules on ship deck operations.

Key duties include delivering expert deck operations content, developing modules and assessments, and collaborating with content developers to ensure accurate, up-to-date material and high-quality training

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of seafaring experience as a 2nd Officer or 3rd Officer.
• Strong understanding of ship deck operations and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear and understandable language.
• Passion for teaching and developing others.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth knowledge of ship deck operations, including cargo handling, mooring, anchoring, navigation, emergency procedures, and safety regulations.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with content developer to define learning objectives and outcomes for deck operations modules.
• Develop comprehensive lesson plans, scripts, and assessments aligned with training needs.
• Assist in creating engaging and interactive content, including text, visuals, simulations, and multimedia elements.
• Assist in developing high-quality learning materials such as e-learning courses, videos, and interactive modules.
• Ensure content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with industry standards.
• Review and edit learning materials for clarity, consistency, and effectiveness.
• Conduct pilot testing of modules to gather feedback and make necessary improvements.
