Job summary

Antarkar Consulting Engineers in Pune, Maharashtra, is seeking a Structural Design Draftsman/Detailer to translate structural concepts and calculations into accurate, buildable GA drawings for steel and RCC projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD, ZWCAD, and Revit is essential, with 1–3 years of structural drafting/detailing experience.

You will develop fabrication and erection drawings, perform 3D model maintenance, clash detection, RFIs, material take-offs, and site data verification.

Qualifications

• Education: ITI Draftsman, Diploma in Civil Engineering, or Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Skills: team player with ability to work in a team and coordination with construction methods, material mechanics and attention to detail.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years in structural drafting/detailing (Steel and RCC).

Responsibilities

• Create detailed GA drawings: foundation plans, floor framing, roof plans, and structural sections for steel and RCC using CAD tools.
• Prepare fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel (connections, beams, columns) and RCC.
• Ensure drawings are to scale, include materials and notes, and maintain CAD standards.
• Maintain and update 3D models based on design revisions.
• Perform clash detection between structural, architectural, and MEP models.
• Review RFIs and respond to drawing-related on-site queries.
• Meet project deadlines and maintain documentation control; perform BOQ take-offs.
• Conduct site visits to verify dimensions and data for drawings.

A Structural Design Draftsman / Detailer is responsible for transforming structural engineering concepts, sketches, designs and calculations into accurate, buildable technical drawings and deliverables for Steel and RCC projects facilitating transformation of design to construction.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Creating Detailed Drawings: Develop high-quality General Arrangement (GA) drawings, foundation plans, floor framing plans, roof plans, and structural sections (steel, concrete, wood) using relevant Software tools (e.g. AutoCAD, ZWCAD, Revit, etc.)
• Structural Detailing: Prepare detailed fabrication and erection drawings for structural Steel (connections, beams, columns) and RCC.
• Drafting Accuracy: Ensure all drawing deliverables are to scale, conform to engineering and CAD standards, and clearly indicate dimensions, material specifications, and notes.
• Model Maintenance: Create, manage, and update 3D models based on revisions from the design team.
• Clash Detection: Perform interdisciplinary coordination (clash check) between structural, architectural, and MEP models to resolve conflicts before construction.
• RFI Response: Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) regarding drawings on-site.
• Drafting Schedule: Meet project deadlines and milestones set by the project manager.
• Documentation Control: Maintain, organize, and archive drawing files, revisions, and project documents.
• Material Take-off (BOQ): Calculate and provide estimations for materials (e.g., steel tonnage, concrete volume).
• Site Visits: Conduct field visits to verify measurements, gather site data, and ensure construction aligns with approved drawings.

Eligibility Criteria

• Education: ITI Draftsman, Diploma in Civil Engineering, or Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Software Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of drafting and detailing Software tools like AutoCAD, ZWCAD, working knowledge of MSOffice.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years in structural drafting/detailing (Steel and RCC).
• Skills: A team player with ability to work in and with a team having working knowledge of construction methods, material mechanics and active listening and coordination skills with excellent attention to detail.
