Job summary

9E Global Engineering Consultants LLC seeks a Steel Structural Engineer to lead design and construction stages on diverse projects. The role involves representing the practice at project level, coordinating with design teams, and delivering drawings and calculations to fee agreements.

You will apply knowledge of steel design codes (American, European and Indian) and use ETAB, SAP-2000, STAAD Pro, Idea Statica and Hilti tools, with 3–6 years in engineering consultancy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–6 years' experience in engineering consultancy firms.
• Master’s Degree/Chartered Engineering will be an added advantage.
• Experience in Middle East projects will be highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent the practice at project level and take responsibility for assigned projects.
• Manage design and construction stages of a project with emphasis on steel structures.
• Liaise daily with the design team and attend progress meetings.
• Deliver drawings, calculations and specifications for tasks within agreed fee and deadlines.
• Ensure adherence to steel structure codes (American, European, Indian) and buildability considerations.
• Report to Lead Structural Engineer/Principal Structural Engineer and contribute to design basis reports.

ProjectRole

• Role will normally be as Steel Structural Engineeron projects of various sizes.On major/more complex projects couldtake the role of designing structural steel frameworks.
• Liase and correspond day to day with designteam.
• Attend team/job meetings to discussprogress/deadlines/detail design issues.
• Be responsible for delivering work to a feeagreed with a Project Manager.
• Familiarity with industry standards and codesrelated to steel structuraldesign including American, European and Indian.
• Proficiency in using Engineering softwareapplications such as ETAB, SAP-2000, STAAD Pro, Idea Statica, Hilti etc.
• Report to Lead Structural Engineer/PrincipalStructural Engineer.

Core responsibilities for the task include: -

• Deliver assigned tasks to agreed deadline and fee.
• Contribute to task profitability by workingefficiently within budget.
• Ensure the quality of the work through diligentchecking.
• Support the preparation of client/projectproposals.
• Construct project teams from internal andexternal resources.
• Achieve 95% chargeable time.

• Knowledgeof Erection engineering will be an added advantage.
• Preparationof Design basis Report and calculation report.
• Working knowledge of specifications and otherproject documentation; assist in their preparation as per project requirements.
• Responsible for producingdrawings/calculations/specifications/reports for assigned tasks.
• Review and comment on deliverables produced byGraduate Engineers & Technicians at key stages through a project.
• Familiar with architects/serviceengineers/etc. drawings, specification and coordination with them forsmooth functioning of project.
• Support Quality Management (QA) within the team byapplying quality procedures and checks.
• Have knowledge of our delivery in CADstandards and 3D working.

QHSE Responsibilities

• Understand, implement andfollow 9E QHSE policies.
• Implement and coordinate QHSEprocedures in your workplace.
• Comply with local regulatoryauthority guidelines and laws pertaining to QHSE.
• Report any QHSE incidentsimmediately to 9E QHSE Dept. and to legal authorities if required.
• Abide Client/Contractor QHSErequirements and acquire site induction before mobilizing at sites.
