Job summary

Growth For Impact seeks a Civil/Mechanical engineer to design industrial buildings and solar PV mounting structures. You will interpret geotechnical reports, produce GA drawings, BOQs, and construction specs for utility-scale projects, and guide drafting teams. Willingness to travel domestically and abroad is required.

You will coordinate with clients and EPCs, ensure targets are met, and demonstrate designs at client locations as needed. Strong reporting and CAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or M.Tech in Structural Engineering.
• Experience in consultancy or EPC environment, preferably on utility-scale solar PV projects.
• Ability to prepare and co-ordinate detailed designs for industrial buildings and steel structures, including solar PV module mounting structures using cold-formed steel members.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to produce high-quality design reports and drawings.
• Capability to understand design requirements and gather site-specific information.
• Experience in preparing bills of quantities and tenders.
• Understanding of key technical and commercial aspects of solar projects.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplined team.
• Proficiency in preparing design spreadsheets for loading calculations and manual design checks.
• Competent user of STAAD Pro, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office packages; knowledge of ANSYS, SAP2000, MIDAS is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel

Responsibilities

• Prepare and co‑ordinate detailed designs of superstructure and substructure for RCC and steel industrial buildings, PEB structures, canopies, etc.
• Interpret geotechnical investigation reports for foundation system design.
• Support solar project structural design and drawings by incorporating engineering input from technical specifications and ensuring optimum RCC and steel structure solutions.
• Independently produce general arrangement, construction drawings, design reports and BOQs for utility‑scale solar PV projects, and demonstrate designs at client locations if required.
• Guide the drafting team, ensure project deliverable targets, and participate in site visits in India and abroad during construction.
• Co‑ordinate and develop design criteria and construction specifications.
• Prepare and monitor schedules for deliverables.
• Attend project coordination meetings and liaise with site team, clients and EPC contractors.
• Review and check designs and drawings.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff.
• Prepare design spreadsheets for loading calculations and perform manual design checks.
