Job summary

Boeing India Private Limited in Chennai is seeking an Associate Structural Analysis Engineer (Interior Stress) to provide structural analysis support for Boeing aircraft interiors. You will perform analysis with CAE/FEA tools to validate components meet requirements and interact with suppliers and regulatory teams.

The role requires experience with FEM software (PATRAN/NASTRAN, HyperWorks), CATIA/ENOVIA CAD systems, and knowledge of aircraft operating environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Materials)
• Experience in stress analysis of aircraft interior commodities
• Experience with metallic and composite structures
• Proficient with FEM software (PATRAN/NASTRAN, HyperWorks)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis using established analysis tools and CAE/FEA software to verify components meet requirements and specifications
• Support test planning, execution and data review for structural verification at multiple levels
• Review test plans and test reports of seats suppliers
• Perform and review detailed structural analysis to determine margins of safety
• Evaluate structural integrity using hand calculations and FEA methods
• Assist in preparation and maintenance of technical documentation
• Support gated reviews to ensure quality and completeness of work packages
• Familiar with FAA and EASA regulatory frameworks
• Support structural design and configuration development
• Conduct trade studies to optimize structure for program requirements

Position Overview:

Boeing India Engineering is looking for Associate Structural Analysis Engineer (Interior Stress) at Boeing India, Chennai. This position will focus on providing support to Boeing commercial airplane customers.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform structural analysis using established Analysis tools (hand-calculations methods) and using CAE/FEA tools to validate that components and assemblies meet requirements and specifications
• Support test planning, execution and data review for structural verification (component, sub system, and system levels). Prepare test procedures and capture results to substantiate requirements for customers and regulatory agencies
• Review test plans and test reports of the seats supplier
• Perform and review detailed structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools.
• Evaluate structural integrity of aircraft components by way of classical hand calculations and, finite element method
• Assist in preparation and maintenance of technical documentation (design reports, test plans/procedures, qualification plans, drawings, and change requests).
• Support Gated Reviews to validate the quality and completeness of work packages
• Familiar with regulatory framework (FAA and EASA), for warranting safety and regulatory compliance.
• Supports structural design and configuration development.
• Performs trade studies to optimize structure and meet program requirements.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
• Experience in stress analysis of various aircraft interior commodities.
• Experience with structural analysis of metallic and composite structures
• Experience in utilizing FEM software (e.g., PATRAN/NASTRAN, Hyperworks)
• Experience in utilizing industry CAD systems – CATIA and ENOVIA
• Knowledge of airplane operating environments.
• Robust understanding of engineering fundamentals such as material properties, Free-body diagrams, structural loads and analysis methods
• Candidate demonstrates excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills to liaise with several Stakeholders
• Ability to work across functional teams and organizations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience or training with computer programming languages (e.g., Matlab, Python, Visual Basic).

• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (e.g, Master’s with 4+ Years of experience).
