Engagement of Technician Apprentice – 2025-26 (Under the Apprentices [Amendment] Act, 1973)

BHEL Tiruchirappalli invites online applications for one-year Technician Apprentice Training for fresh diploma holders in engineering disciplines.

Vacancy Distribution

• Mechanical Engineering – 50
• Computer/IT Engineering – 10
• Civil Engineering – 10
• Electronics & Communication – 10
• Electrical & Electronics Engg. – 10
• Total – 90

Note: Vacancy numbers are tentative and subject to change at management’s discretion.

Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit: 18–27 years as on 01/08/2025 (relaxation—SC/ST: 5 yrs, OBC-NCL: 3 yrs, PwD: 10 yrs).
• Qualification: Full-time high school and diploma in engineering from Govt. recognized institute, completed within last five years (2021–2025). 60% marks (UR/OBC/EWS), 50% marks (SC/ST).
• Only regular full time diploma holders (not distance/part-time/correspondence).
• Prior apprenticeship or >1 year work experience not eligible.
• Reservation as per company rules for SC (19%), ST (1%), OBC-NCL (27%), EWS (10%), PwD (4%) and dependents of BHEL employees.

Selection Process

• Merit-based: Based on qualifying exam marks. Tie-breaker is higher age.
• Minimum physical standards as per Apprenticeship Act rules.
• Only candidates passing from Tamil Nadu to be considered; vacancies may be offered to others if not filled.
