Valtech in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Sterling OMS Lead to drive design, development, and integration of IBM Sterling OMS modules, including Web SOM, Web COM, and CallCenterUI. You will architect scalable, high‑performance solutions and guide technical teams through complex OMS projects.

You will thrive in this role if you are:
Technical Leadership & Strategy
Lead the design, development, and customization of IBM Sterling OMS modules, including Web SOM, Web COM, and CallCenterUI.
Architect scalable, high‑performance solutions, defining the technical roadmap and overseeing the delivery of complex OMS projects.
Define and enforce best practices for development, customization, integration, and code quality, including conducting code reviews.
Guide the team in translating functional requirements into detailed technical design documents and configuration specifications.
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all technical aspects of the Sterling OMS platform, providing guidance on complex business scenarios.
Development & Implementation
Lead the development of core OMS functionalities, including order orchestration workflows, sourcing rules, fulfillment logic, and pipeline configurations.
Oversee the integration of Sterling OMS with external systems such as ERP (e.g., SAP), WMS (e.g., Blue Yonder), CRM, payment gateways, and e‑commerce platforms.
Build and maintain Java‑based microservices and REST/SOAP APIs to support scalable order management and integration needs.
Leverage cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) for deployment and management of applications.
Manage and execute data migration, system configuration, and deployment processes.
Team & Stakeholder Management
Mentor and lead a team of 3‑10 developers and engineers, both onshore and offshore, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including product managers, business analysts, QA, and DevOps, to ensure seamless delivery.
Participate in client discussions, status reporting calls, and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
Production Support & Troubleshooting
Oversee L2/L3 support, proactively monitoring production systems to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for high‑impact production issues and implement permanent fixes.
Provide off-hours support for critical production downtime and business‑impacts.
Experience & Education
Total Experience: 8+ years of overall experience in software development and IT, with a minimum of 4‑6 years of hands‑on experience specifically in IBM Sterling OMS.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Technical Proficiency
Sterling OMS Expertise: Deep proficiency in IBM Sterling OMS components, including Order Management, Inventory Management, Fulfillment, Process Types, Pipelines, User Exits, and Agents.
Cloud & DevOps: Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, or Azure/GCP), containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Maven).
Database: Proficient in writing optimized SQL queries and working with relational databases like Oracle or DB2.
Architecture: Deep understanding of microservices architecture, event‑driven design (e.g., Apache Kafka), and integration patterns.
Domain & Process Knowledge
Retail & eCommerce: Solid understanding of the Retail domain, including e‑commerce, order‑to‑cash lifecycle, and fulfillment models (e.g., SFS, BOPIS, Dropship).
SDLC & Agile: Proven experience in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and working within Agile/Scrum environments.
Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and guide technical teams.
