Job description

State Content Training Associate, Inclusive Education

This is a cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of Pratham's inclusive education content and program. The SCTA, Inclusive Education, will support the design, review, and strengthening of learning content, training materials, and capacity-building processes across programs.

You will work closely with program teams, state teams, trainers, and external partners to ensure that content and training approaches are practical, inclusive, and aligned with program goals.

In this role, you will mostly be:

  • Developing and reviewing learning and training content.
  • Supporting training design and facilitation processes.
  • Embedding inclusive and learner-centred approaches in program materials.
  • Working with program teams to adapt content based on field realities.
  • Documenting learning and improving resources over time.
  • Coordinating with teams and managing parallel workstreams.
Responsibilities
Content Development and Review
  • Develop and review learning materials, activity guides, teacher resources, and program tools
  • Develop content which is clear, engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with national and global policy practices
  • Support the integration of inclusive education principles into learning materials
  • Conduct research to generate evidence on the efficacy of the resources being developed
  • Review existing content and recommend improvements based on feedback and evidence
Training Design and Capacity Building
  • Support the design of training modules, facilitation plans, presentations, and learning resources.
  • Develop training activities that encourage participation, reflection, and practical application.
  • Assist in planning and facilitating workshops, trainings, and learning sessions.
  • Incorporate adult learning principles into training design.
  • Support the documentation of training learnings and follow-up actions.
Field Engagement and Learning
  • Visit program sites to understand classroom practices, implementation challenges, and learner needs.
  • Conduct practice and demonstration classes, document learnings, and train relevant stakeholders.
  • Observe trainings and program activities to gather feedback on content effectiveness.
  • Engage with teachers, trainers, frontline workers, and program teams.
  • Use field insights to strengthen content and training approaches.
  • This role involves moderate travel across program locations - estimated at 30-40% of working days.
Documentation and Coordination
  • Write reports, briefs, training summaries, and content notes.
  • Maintain content repositories, trackers, and resource libraries.
  • Coordinate with program teams, consultants, and partners on content-related work.
  • Support knowledge-sharing across teams.
  • Contribute to documentation of program innovations and learning.
What we are looking for

We care more about your practical experience, curiosity, and commitment than about formal qualifications alone. Here is what will help you in this role:

Required
  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education, Education, Social work or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive education frameworks.
  • Ability to develop and review educational content.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English and Hindi along with either Kannada/Tamil/Telugu.
  • Familiarity with disability rights frameworks and inclusive education principles.
  • Comfortable working across teams and managing multiple priorities.
Preferred (but not essential)
  • 4-5 years of work experience in education, inclusion, or social development and at least 2 experiences in accessible and inclusive learning materials.
  • RCI registration and/or background in special education, disability studies, or rehabilitation.
  • Experience working with or within Organisations of People with Disabilities (OPDs) and other CSOs.
  • Familiarity with government education programs (SSA, NEP, RPWD Act).
  • Lived experience of disability is valued and welcomed.
Travel requirement
