CitiusTech is seeking a Starburst Data Platform Architect to lead enterprise data architecture across cloud and hybrid environments. You will define target-state architecture, drive solution design, and mentor teams on data virtualization best practices.

Qualifications

• 10-20+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Enterprise Data Platforms, or Data Consulting.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Starburst Enterprise, Trino, and Data Virtualization Architecture.
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data platforms.
• Strong understanding of Data Modeling, Schema Design, Metadata Management, and Data Governance.
• Experience integrating Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Relational Databases, and Cloud Storage.
• Expertise in SQL optimization, distributed query processing, and performance tuning.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
• Experience leading architecture governance reviews and strategic technology discussions.

• Review technical designs, solution deliverables, and implementation artifacts to ensure scalability, quality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data consumers, and technical teams to validate architectural decisions.
• Evaluate current-state environments and recommend modernization strategies for data platforms.
• Guide performance tuning, workload optimization, and query performance improvements within Starburst/Trino environments.
• Support cloud and hybrid data platform initiatives while ensuring adherence to security and compliance requirements.
• Mentor engineering and platform teams on enterprise data architecture principles and Starburst best practices.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Starburst Data Platform Architect to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of enterprise-wide data solutions leveraging the Starburst Data Platform. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in data virtualization, distributed query engines, cloud-based data ecosystems, and modern data architecture frameworks.

This role will be responsible for defining the target-state data architecture, driving solution design, establishing governance standards, and collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions.
