Job summary

Enphase Energy in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Systems Engineer/Architect to define requirements and architecture for hardware and software products within the Enphase Energy System, including microinverters, batteries, and EV charging components.

You will drive POCs for hardware and software, create DVT plans, and guide integration across cross-functional teams. Strong experience in ISO 15118, OCPP, Linux, and scripting is required.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Electrical/Electronics/Computers required.
• 12+ years of experience in Embedded system product design and validation.
• Strong focus on product definition and validation in systems engineering.
• Hands-on with electrical/electronic systems and embedded software.
• Experience with Linux-based software systems and scripting (Python/Java/Shell).
• Familiarity with ISO 15118, OCPP and EV charging standards.
• Knowledge of model-based systems engineering and CI/CD practices.

About The Role

As a Systems Engineer the successful candidate will be part of the Systems Engineering team that is responsible for defining the Requirements and Architecture along with driving the Implementation and Integration of the products into the Enphase’s energy system.

You will be responsible for Defining the Requirements and architecture along with doing POCs for Hardware and software based products. The individual will also be responsible as the Technical architect who would be driving the entire execution and Integration of the product. You will work closely with development teams to identify and resolve issues and improve the overall quality of our software and hardware products.

What You Will Do

• System Requirement Definition based on the Marketing requirements and Product standards (ISO 15118, IEC 61851, OCPP).


• Define system architecture/design and concept of operations.


• Functional separation for the requirements between hardware and software elements.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify the requirements and design effective test strategies for integrated systems.


• Develop POC using Hardware/Software to validate the Concepts and Product Integrations.


• Monitor and drive the design execution and Integration with cross functional teams.


• Design and Develop the DVT plans and test cases specific to product and systems for validating the EV Chargers Ecosystem integrated with the Enphase Energy System including Microinverters and Batteries based on the Engineering Requirement specifications.


• Enable and Execute Design verification test as required (DVT) to assure full coverage of Ensemble grid agnostic system design that includes EV Chargers, micro inverter, AC batteries, Smart Switch and IOT Gateway with Could and mobile app support.


• Developing automation test strategy using Python that controls lab instruments like Grid simulator, Power Analyser, Oscilloscope, SAS, Programmable loads and other Enphase products.


• Execute automated and manual tests to validate system functionality, performance, and hardware integration.


• Set up, configure, and troubleshoot hardware test environments and equipment.


• Identify, document, and track defects using issue-tracking systems.


• Analyze DVT results, identify root causes of issues, and provide actionable recommendations.


• Database management for test results, test data analysis either manually or using python-based data analysis script.


• Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.


• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.


• Responsible for documentation of test plan and test reports of complete system in JAMA and Arena

Who You Are And What You Bring

• BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Electrical/Electronics/Computers engineering with 12+ years of experience in Embedded system Product design and validation.


• Minimum of 10+ years of experience as a System Engineer/Architect with strong focus on Product definition and Validation


• Hands-on experience with electrical and electronics systems along with Embedded Systems based products.


• Hands-on experience on working with Linux Based Software Systems.


• Model based System Engineering knowledge would be an added advantage.


• Knowledge on EV Chargers and associated Standards like ISO 15118, OCPP etc.


• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Java, or Shell scripting.


• Solid understanding of system testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices for both software and hardware.


• Hands‑on experince in Python based automation framework including lab instruments.


• Experience on TCP/IP, Serial ( RS485, USB) and CAN communciation protocol scripts.
