Job summary

Enphase Energy seeks an experienced software lead to establish and maintain test software processes for hardware manufacturing. You will develop and implement test frameworks using Python, LabVIEW, and C/C++, and work closely with design, NPI, and manufacturing teams across sites to ensure reliability.

The role involves expanding production test capabilities, coordinating across contract manufacturers, and driving continuous improvement in testability and quality for Enphase Energy systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in Electrical/Electronics or related field.
• 8+ years in test software development for hardware manufacturing.
• Experience with Python, LabVIEW, C or C++ and test automation frameworks.
• Experience with fixture development, hardware testing, and DFT.
• Ability to analyze SPC, yield, GR&R and perform root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test systems and frameworks for hardware manufacturing tests.
• Coordinate with NPI, Manufacturing and Quality teams globally.
• Support test hardware and software upgrades across contract manufacturing sites.
• Document test processes, calibration, maintenance, and replacement schedules.
• Ensure fault-tolerant test systems in collaboration with Mfg. SW team.
• Analyze marketing/engineering requirements to define robust test specs.
• Lead responses to factory and field failures (RMA) by identifying gaps.

About Role :

We're looking for a skilled software developer lead to establish and maintain our software development processes using a framework, ensuring high-quality product delivery and efficient team collaboration. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and implementing software frameworks for hardware manufacturing test, setting up development workflows, version control, and issue tracking.

Enphase has multiple high-volume manufacturing and test setups globally. You will support the manufacturing test setup globally and ensure they meet the highest reliability and quality standards in the industry. You will work closely with all production sites to monitor, maintain, and improve test hardware and software. You will also work with the NPI and design teams to successfully introduce new products into production.

The job consists of understanding, supporting, and improving the test technology, strategy, hardware, and software to be deployed at Enphase’s various production facilities. Enphase’s products often carry a relatively long warranty in the field; therefore, our manufacturing process and test must support the quality required. This often results in unique product features, disciplined manufacturing processes, and rigorous testing.

What You Will Do

• Working with geographically dispersed teams consisting of Electronics Hardware Engineers, Software Engineers, and Engineering Technicians.
• Supporting changes and upgrades to Enphase production test hardware and software.
• Coordinating with the NPI, Manufacturing and Quality teams at contract manufacturing sites.
• Developing and documenting test system processes and maintenance routines, including calibration, replacement schedule, repeatability test, etc.
• Coordinating closely with the Mfg. SW Development Team to design and ensure a fault-tolerant test system.
• Maintaining, debugging, and supporting the production facilities where the test systems are deployed.
• Evaluating Marketing and Engineering Requirement Documents to develop robust Test Requirements that drive reliability while reducing the cost of test
• Driving closed loop response to factory and field failures (RMA) by identifying test gaps and opportunities

What You Bring And Who You Are

• B.E/M.Tech. Electrical Engineering Or Electronics Engineering, or other suitable educational background
• 8+ years of experience in Test software development using Python,LabVIEW, C or C++ Experience with hardware design, fixture development, and DFT (Design for Testability) implementation.
• Strong understanding of analog, digital, power electronics, and embedded systems testing.
• Experience in statistical process control (SPC), yield analysis, GR&R, capability studies, and root cause analysis.
• Strong experience in DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) development and execution to identify potential product failure modes, assess risk, and implement effective mitigation strategies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Version Control and Project Management Tools: Proficient in using JIRA for project management and Bitbucket for version control.
• Familiarity with MES systems, databases, and data analytics tools for production performance monitoring.
• Strong experience in manufacturing yield analysis, yield improvement, and defect reduction for high-volume production environments.
