Job summary

Extreme Networks is seeking an experienced Software QA Engineer to drive end-to-end quality for cloud-based networking products. You will design and execute test strategies, including API and GUI automation, to ensure reliability across cloud environments and on-prem deployments.

You will work with product and engineering teams, building robust test plans, automating tests, and validating new features from development through release. Strong scripting and Linux skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 8+ years of QA experience in networking/cloud-based products.
• Strong debugging skills in microservices architecture.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Hands-on API testing (REST), UI automation (Selenium/Robot), and performance testing (JMeter/Locust).

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, execute and automate test suites for cloud-based networking applications and services.
• Perform functional, integration, performance and scalability testing.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Development, CloudOps and QA teams to improve test coverage.
• Review and feedback on automation code and test strategies.
• Ensure accuracy of deployments and monitor test results across environments.

Job Description

• Excellent QA experience in most of the following areas:
• Experience in testing cloud-based applications.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud or Azure.
• Experience and understanding of Kubernetes, Docker and Clustering solutions.
• Experience in creating end-to-end test strategy and test planning.
• Plan, Develop, Execute and Automate Test suites for our Cloud based Networking applications and Services
• Perform functional, integration, performance and scale, load validations
• Work closely with Product Owners, Development, CloudOps and other teams on the above
• Review customer deployments and customer found issues and address any gaps in the test coverage
• Automation of features from an end-to-end perspective - API and GUI.
• Review automation code written by other team members, give feedback.
• API Testing (Functional, Security aspects and Scale/Performance) (REST preferred)
• Hands-on programming using Java, Python, ROBOT, Perl, Go or TCL/TK.
• Experience in testing wired Networking protocols like VLAN, IP, STP, TCP, UDP, VRRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IS-IS, SPBM etc.
• Experience in testing Enterprise Wireless and Wired networks.
• Experience in security concepts and protocols such as AAA framework, 802.1X, Captive portal, VPN, Firewalls, SSL etc.
• UI test automation experience using selenium or playwright.
• Knowledge of Virtualization and Hypervisor (ESX, Hyper-V).
• Experience using network testing tools like Wireshark, Ethereal or Jmeter.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix OS.
• Experience or exposure to AI, Machine Learning and related tools.
• Good Analytical and Communication Skills
• Expected Skill Sets/Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 3 to 12 years of Experience in Network Management/Orchestration domain
• Good debugging skills in a Microservices oriented architecture based product
• A detailed understanding of cloud technologies ,containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Hands on experience with Performance Testing - Experience with Performance Testing & Monitoring using tools such as Jmeter, Locust etc.,
• Expert in API Testing: API Contract Testing using Mocks, API Automation etc.,. Knowledge on relevant widely used Tools for the same.
• UI Automation using Selenium, Robot framework and Python
• Applied experience with version control systems such as Git, Github
• Comfortable with SQL/NoSQL/In-memory databases such as PostgreSQL/Redis/Ignite
• Knowledge on monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus
