Responsibilities

• Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
• Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings.
• Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.
• Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, B2B, and business-to-government solutions.
• Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Real Payments, and Buy-Now-Pay-Later Technology.
• Take advantage of opportunities to make a difference on a global or local scale through mentorship and continued learning.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrate relevant technical working knowledge to understand requirements.
• Identify and contribute to development and solution strategies that improve design and functionality of interface features across one or more project features, with minimal guidance.
• Apply standard processes for programming languages (e.g., HTML, C++, Java) to write code that fulfills website modification requests and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with others to support piloting of new technology capabilities and features that enhance the user website experience across e‑commerce products.
• Analyze bugs for simple issues and apply debugging tools to verify assumptions.
• Possess extensive technical experience with Java, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Develop code using Eclipse/MyEclipse, JetBrains IntelliJ or any major Java IDE.
• Use GIT/Stash, Maven and Jenkins.
• Create APIs using SOAP or REST, JSON and XML, and other relevant API standards such as OAuth and SAML.
• Work with SQL datastores such as DB2/MySQL, Unix or Linux platforms.
• Develop tools, automate CI/CD, auto deployment, system availability, logging, and monitoring.
• Have experience with streaming platforms like Kafka.
• Write clean, coherent code following established coding guidelines.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal and effective communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Be highly driven, resourceful and results oriented.

Qualifications

• 7.5+ years of relevant work experience and a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Extensive technical experience with Java, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Experience developing code in Eclipse/MyEclipse, JetBrains IntelliJ or any major Java IDE.
• Proficiency with Git/Stash, Maven and Jenkins.
• Strong background in API development using SOAP or REST, JSON, XML, OAuth and SAML.
• Experience with SQL datastores such as DB2/MySQL, Unix or Linux platforms.
• Knowledge of automation and CI/CD tools, auto‑deployment, system availability, logging, and monitoring.
• Some experience with streaming platforms like Kafka.
• Ability to write clean, coherent code following coding guidelines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Highly driven, resourceful and results oriented.
• Preferred: experience with NoSQL datastores (MongoDB), Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and an Agile framework.

Hybrid Position

This is a hybrid position. The expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by the hiring manager, with a minimum of three days.
