Job summary

Toast is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join a team building AI-powered capabilities that enhance restaurant guest engagement and growth. You will lead backend initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable services on AWS.

You will design, implement, and deploy resilient features, drive quality with automated tests, and roll out capabilities with monitoring to ensure success for Toast customers and partners.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience building backend services and APIs.
• Extensive experience with Java or Kotlin.
• Experience shipping production services and balancing delivery with platform stability.
• Experience building backend services and APIs and scaling distributed systems.
