Job summary

Velmed Hospital in Dehradun is seeking nursing staff to deliver high-quality care across critical care, emergency, surgery, obstetrics and pediatrics. You will assess patients, administer medications, and maintain precise nursing records while coordinating closely with doctors and nurses.

Freshers to 7 years experience are welcome; ICU/NICU/OT/Labour Room experience is advantageous. Rotate shifts, uphold NABH guidelines, and support patient education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• GNM or B.Sc. Nursing degree is required.
• Fresher to 7 years of experience considered.
• ICU, NICU, Emergency, OT, Labour Room or Critical Care experience adds value.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and record patients' health conditions and vital signs.
• Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, and emergencies.
• Maintain accurate nursing records and patient documentation.
• Monitor patients for changes and report promptly to the treating consultant.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Educate patients and attendants regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Ensure adherence to infection control, patient safety, and hospital quality standards.
• Coordinate with doctors, nursing colleagues, and allied healthcare professionals.
• Respond to emergencies and provide life support as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of nursing stations and equipment.
• Follow NABH guidelines, nursing protocols, and hospital policies.

About the Hospital

Velmed Hospital is a NABH-accredited, 150-bed multispecialty hospital in Dehradun offering advanced patient care across multiple specialties including critical care, emergency medicine, surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, neurology, nephrology, obstetrics & gynecology, and pediatrics.

Key Responsibilities

Assess, monitor, and record patients' health conditions and vital signs.

Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, and emergencies.

Maintain accurate nursing records and patient documentation.

Monitor patients for any sudden or subtle changes in medical condition and report promptly to the treating consultant.

Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.

Educate patients and attendants regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.

Ensure adherence to infection control, patient safety, and hospital quality standards.

Coordinate effectively with doctors, nursing colleagues, and allied healthcare professionals.

Respond efficiently to medical emergencies and provide basic/advanced life support as required.

Maintain cleanliness and readiness of nursing stations, equipment, and patient care areas.

Follow NABH guidelines, nursing protocols, and hospital policies.

Required Qualifications

GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery) or B.Sc. Nursing.

Freshers may apply; experienced candidates will be preferred.

ICU, NICU, Emergency, OT, Labor Room, or Critical Care experience will be an added advantage
