Job summary

Athulya Assisted Living is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, timely, and person-centred clinical care to residents. You will execute daily nursing procedures, monitor health status, and support the care team under the Nurse Manager.

You will handle medication administration, wound care, vital signs recording, and care plan implementation, while maintaining documentation and ensuring infection control. Rotational shifts including nights and weekends are part of the role.

Qualifications

• GNM or B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Valid nursing registration.
• 24 years of bedside nursing experience, preferably in geriatric or long-term care.
• Knowledge of basic nursing procedures, geriatric signs and symptoms, and medication protocols.
• Clinical vigilance, safe handling, empathy, basic supervision and documentation.
• Basic English and local language fluency.
• Rotational shifts, including night duties, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as per MAR and ensure medication safety protocols are followed.
• Perform nursing procedures: wound dressing, catheter care, blood sugar checks, oxygen therapy, nebulization.
• Record daily vital signs and clinical observations.
• Implement care plans and monitor resident health status, elevating changes to Nurse Manager.
• Support physiotherapy and diet instructions through reinforcement and monitoring.
• Maintain accurate nursing notes, MAR and incident records.
• Participate in care plan reviews with updated inputs on resident condition.
• Guide Champions and Caretakers on hygiene and safe transfer techniques.

Role Purpose

To ensure delivery of safe, timely, and person-centred clinical care to residents within the assigned pod. The registered Nurse executes daily nursing procedures, ensures implementation of care plans including documentation, monitors resident health status, and supports & elevates the morale of the care team.

Resident Clinical Monitoring & Care

• Administer medications as per MAR and ensure medication safety protocols are followed.
• Perform nursing procedures: wound dressing, catheter care, blood sugar checks, oxygen therapy, nebulization, etc.
• Conduct and record daily vital signs and clinical observations.

Care Plan Implementation

• Ensure daily tasks align with the care plan prepared by the registered nurse.
• Observe changes in health condition and elevate to Nurse Manager/DMO.
• Support physiotherapy and diet instructions through reinforcement and monitoring.

Clinical Documentation

• Maintain accurate nursing notes and update MAR and incident records.
• Document escalation calls, refusals of care, or abnormal findings.
• Participate in care plan reviews with updated inputs on resident condition.

Team Support & Supervision

• Guide Champions and Caretakers on hygiene care, transfer techniques, and safe practices.
• Ensure the nursing team is briefed on resident updates during the huddles.
• Participate in shift handovers with relevant clinical details.

Infection Control & Emergency Response

• Enforce hand hygiene, PPE usage, and isolation procedures.
• Be the first responder for emergencies until DMO intervention.
• Ensure prompt reporting of any clinical incidents or near misses.
