Job summary

Micron is seeking a Staff Layout Designer in Hyderabad with 7+ years of experience to lead layout activities for memory blocks. You will oversee floorplanning, placement, and routing, delivering mid-size blocks in core and periphery areas while collaborating with TD, Design and CAD teams to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires strong LVS/DRC debugging skills and deep knowledge of analog layout fundamentals such as matching and parasitics.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in layout required.
• Proficient using Cadence VXL on periphery blocks.
• Strong debugging skills for LVS, DRC and layout issues.
• Experience creating layouts for analog blocks (e.g., sensors, PLL, ADC, DAC, LDO, Bandgap).
• Understanding of matching, EM, latch-up, coupling, crosstalk, IR-drop and parasitics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee layout process including floor-planning, placement and routing.
• Deliver mid-size blocks in Core/Pitch and periphery areas.
• Work with Design and other engineering groups for Array, Digital and Analog circuits.
• Execute ECO, LCO and DFM tasks.
• Coordinate with TD, Design, CAD and layout teams to meet schedule.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive innovation in memory generations.

As a Staff Layout Designer (7+ years of experience in layout)

• You must have the ability to understand design constraints and implement high-quality layouts.
• You must be proficient using Cadence VXL on periphery blocks.
• You must have strong debug and problem-solving skills for LVS, DRC & Layout issues.
• You must have hands-on experience in creating layout of critical blocks such as Temperature sensor, PLL, ADC, DAC, LDO, Bandgap, Ref Generators, Charge Pump, Current Mirrors, Comparator, Differential Amplifier etc.
• You must have good understanding of Analog Layout fundamentals such as Matching, Electro-migration, Latch-up, coupling, crosstalk, IR-drop, active and passive parasitic devices etc.
• You must have good understanding of layout effects on the circuit such as Speed, Capacitance, Power, and Area etc.
• You must oversee and manage the layout process including floor-planning, placement, and routing.
• You must have a good understanding of the Design rules and deliver with quality layout.
• You must deliver mid-size blocks, including signal and floorplan, in Core/Pitch and periphery area.
• You will work with Design and other engineering groups to apply multiple layout techniques for the design and verification of Array, Digital and Analog circuits.
• You must execute secondary layout tasks such as ECO, LCO and DFM.
• You will be responsible for coordinating with TD, Design, CAD, and layout teams to deliver on schedule with quality.
• You must demonstrate a strong ability to debug problems, find effective solutions, and negotiate with the engineering staff. You will be required to meet all engineering and process related criteria needed for an assigned NAND product.
• You will organize and prioritize logistics and resource allocations to meet scheduled deadlines and proactively develop methodologies for issue resolution.
• You will be expected to understand various circuit design protocols, different fab processes, mask generation techniques, and tape-out processes and procedures.
• You should be able to mentor Junior team members.
• You must drive innovation into the future Memory generations within a dynamic work environment.
• Multiple Tape out support experience will be an added advantage.
• You must have a good understanding of automation and leveraging AI tool proficiency to enable your work.
