Job summary

Enphase Energy is seeking a software development lead to establish and maintain test frameworks for high-volume manufacturing across global production sites. You will guide hardware/software test integration, document processes, and work with NPI, manufacturing, and QA teams to ensure reliability and quality.

The role requires 8+ years in test software, strong C/C++ and Python, and hands-on experience with DFMEA and SPC. 3 days onsite weekly with plans to move toward full office attendance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in test software development using Python, LabVIEW, C or C++.
• Experience with hardware design, fixture development, and DFT (Design for Testability) implementation.
• Strong understanding of analog, digital, power electronics, and embedded systems testing.

Responsibilities

• Working with geographically dispersed teams of Electronics Hardware Engineers, Software Engineers, and Engineering Technicians.
• Supporting changes and upgrades to Enphase production test hardware and software.
• Coordinating with the NPI, Manufacturing and Quality teams at contract manufacturing sites.
• Developing and documenting test system processes and maintenance routines, including calibration, replacement schedule, repeatability test, etc.
• Coordinating with the Mfg. SW Development Team to design and ensure a fault-tolerant test system.
• Maintaining, debugging, and supporting the production facilities where the test systems are deployed.
• Evaluating Marketing and Engineering Requirement Documents to develop robust Test Requirements that drive reliability while reducing the cost of test
• Driving closed loop response to factory and field failures (RMA) by identifying test gaps and opportunities

This role at Enphase requires working onsite 3 days a week, with plans to transition back to a full 5 day in office schedule over time.

We’re looking for a skilled software developer lead to establish and maintain our software development processes using a framework, ensuring high-quality product delivery and efficient team collaboration. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and implementing software frameworks for hardware manufacturing test, setting up development workflows, version control, and issue tracking.

Enphase has multiple high-volume manufacturing and test setups globally. You will support the manufacturing test setup globally and ensure they meet the highest reliability and quality standards in the industry. You will work closely with all production sites to monitor, maintain, and improve test hardware and software. You will also work with the NPI and design teams to successfully introduce new products into production.

The job consists of understanding, supporting, and improving the test technology, strategy, hardware, and software to be deployed at Enphase’s various production facilities. Enphase’s products often carry a relatively long warranty in the field; therefore, our manufacturing process and test must support the quality required. This often results in unique product features, disciplined manufacturing processes, and rigorous testing.

What You Bring and Who You Are

• B.E/M.Tech. Electrical Engineering Or Electronics Engineering, or other suitable educational background
• 8+ years of experience in Test software development using Python,LabVIEW, C or C++ Experience with hardware design, fixture development, and DFT (Design for Testability) implementation.
• Strong understanding of analog, digital, power electronics, and embedded systems testing.
• Experience in statistical process control (SPC), yield analysis, GRR, capability studies, and root cause analysis.
• Strong experience in DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) development and execution to identify potential product failure modes, assess risk, and implement effective mitigation strategies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Version Control and Project Management Tools: Proficient in using JIRA for project management and Bitbucket for version control.
• Familiarity with MES systems, databases, and data analytics tools for production performance monitoring.
• Strong experience in manufacturing yield analysis, yield improvement, and defect reduction for high-volume production environments.
