Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking an experienced software professional to work on embedded driver development for camera subsystems. You will contribute to the imaging pipeline, integrate MIPI-CSI-2 interfaces and sensors from multiple vendors, and optimize video processing modules across time zones.

The ideal candidate has strong C/C++ skills, experience with RTOS, and hands-on debugging of low-level hardware interfaces. Bangalore-based role with collaboration across global teams.

Qualifications

• Good experience in embedded software and/or driver development.
• Mandatory C/C++ programming skills and operating systems knowledge; familiarity with MIPI-CSI-2 and PHY spec.
• Experience with I2C/SPI and driver design for multiple camera sensors (Sony, Aptina, OmniVision).
• V4L2 knowledge; familiarity with CVBS/analog cameras.
• Experience in video processing pipelines for media applications (playback, capture, transcoding, streaming).
• Exposure to video pre/post-processing algorithms and motion estimation for quality improvement is a plus.
• Knowledge of computer vision / video analytics is a plus.
• Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems (Android, QNX, Embedded Linux) is preferred.
• Strong low-level debugging and ARM assembly understanding; solid hardware interface skills.
• Proficiency with debugging tools, Git/Perforce, IDEs and build systems.

General Summary

Job Description:

Good work experience in embedded software and/or driver development. Candidate should be detail-oriented and have strong analytical and debugging skills, strong communication skills (written and verbal), working with teams across multiple time zones.

Mandatory skills of C/C++ programming and operating systems. Working knowledge of MIPI-CSI-2 and PHY specification;

Working experience with bus protocols such as I2C/SPI Experience in driver design and implementation with multiple camera vendor sensors such as - Sony, Aptina, OmniVision;

V4L2 Experience with FPDLINK serializer/deserializers, CVBS, analog cameras;

Familiarity with camera imaging pipeline such as 3A (focus/white balance/exposure), HDR, color correction, etc., is a plus.

Experience in video processing pipeline implementation for media applications (playback, capture, transcoding, streaming, voice call, etc.).

Exposure to Video pre- and post-processing algorithms, motion compensation & estimation, deinterlacing, etc., for subjective quality enhancement is a plus.

Knowledge of computer vision, Video Analytics (facial recognition, object recognition) is a plus.

Knowledge of one or more Real-Time Operating Systems is preferred: which includes Android, QNX, Embedded Linux.

Solid understanding of ARM assembly language and low level software/hardware interface design, debugging is a plus.

Fluent in industry standard software development tools: debuggers, code revision control systems (GIT, Perforce), IDEs and build tools.

Experience - 11 to 15yeards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.

OR

• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.

OR

• PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• 1+ year of experience with debugging techniques.
