Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited in Bengaluru is seeking a Staff Engineer Video with 10+ years in multimedia (video, display, graphics, camera) to design and develop video features on Qualcomm SoCs for automotive and Android Auto contexts.

You will work across Linux embedded systems, ARM multi-core platforms, and hypervisor-based environments, debugging secure playback, optimizing power and performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in multimedia domain including video, display, graphics, and camera technologies.
• Experience with video codecs: H264, H265, VP9, HEVC, AV1.
• Expertise in video technologies: Gstreamer, Codec2, V4L2, Android multimedia framework, FFmpeg, DRM.
• Experience in Linux embedded domain and strong C/C++ programming skills.
• Hands-on Linux kernel programming and Linux device drivers experience is MUST.
• Kernel and user-space debugging skills using JTAG/ICE.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deliver and maintain video features on Qualcomm SOCs.
• Develop and support software on multi-core ARM CPUs and Hypervisor based systems.
• Debug issues with end-to-end use cases, secure video playback.
• Power and performance KPI optimizations to support car play and Android Auto requirements, conformance certifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams; technically leading and delivering features on time.

Skills/experience:

• 10 to 12 Years of experience in Multimedia domain like Video, display, graphics, camera etc.

• Expertise in Video technologies like Gstreamer, Codec2, V4l2, Android multimedia framework, FFMEG, secure video playback, DRM(Digital rights management) etc.
• Experience in the Linux embedded domain to design, develop and support software solutions on multi-core ARM/CPUs, Strong C/C++ programming skills.
• Experience in memory management flows, buffer optimizations, performance improvements etc.
• Hands on Experience in Linux kernel programming, Linux memory management and commendable experience in Linux device drivers is MUST.
• Multimedia domain knowledge is plus as domains are interconnected and have overall system and MM knowledge is Plus.
• Should have good kernel and user space debugging skills, debugging using JTAG or ICE debuggers
• Motivated self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong C Programming Skills.
• Hands on Experience in Linux kernel programming, Linux memory management and commendable experience in Linux device drivers is MUST.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, ECE, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• OR
• Master's degree in Engineering, ECE, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• OR
• PhD in Engineering, ECE, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 6+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
• OR
• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
• OR
• PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• 1+ year of experience with debugging techniques.
