Job summary

SiFive is seeking a Staff Design Verification Engineer in Hyderabad to lead verification of CPU core microarchitecture. The role focuses on DV strategy, architecture validation, and closure for high-performance processors ensuring functional correctness at silicon level.

You will develop test plans, build testbenches, and drive coverage closure across simulation and emulation platforms while collaborating with Architecture & Design teams on ISA behavior and compliance testing.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in CPU core verification.
• Experience with SystemVerilog and UVM for DV.
• Ability to develop test plans and ensure coverage closure.

Responsibilities

• Lead verification of CPU core microarchitecture.
• Develop testbenches, constrained-random tests, scoreboards and checkers.
• Drive coverage models and regressions across simulation and emulation.
• Collaborate with Architecture and Design teams for ISA behavior validation.
• Validate ISA features, exceptions, and correctness at silicon level.

Job Description:

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Design Verification Engineer with 6+ years of experience to lead verification of complex CPU core microarchitecture. The candidate will drive DV strategy, architecture validation, and closure for high-performance processors, ensuring functional correctness, performance, and quality at silicon level.

Key Responsibilities

• CPU Core Verification

• Own end-to-end verification of CPU core components (Fetch, Decode, Execute, Memory, Pipeline, Cache, MMU)

• Validate microarchitectural features such as:

• Out-of-order execution

• Branch prediction

• Cache coherency

• Virtual memory & paging

• Develop test plans from architecture specifications and ensure full coverage closure

Verification Methodology & Execution

• Lead verification using System Verilog / UVM

Develop:

• Testbenches

• Constrained-random tests

• Scoreboards and checkers

• Coverage models (functional + code)

• Drive regressions and debug complex failures across simulation/emulation platforms

Architecture & Feature Validation

• Work closely with Architecture & Design teams to:

• Understand ISA behavior (e.g., ARM ISA, RISC-V, or x86)

• Validate corner cases, exceptions, interrupts

• Perform ISA-level validation and compliance testing
