Job summary

Ohmium in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to own the architecture and deployment of advanced process control solutions at customer sites. You will analyze operational data to improve performance, reliability and maintainability, and drive root-cause analysis of complex issues.

The role requires 6–12 years in control systems for industrial processing, knowledge of supervisory control, and familiarity with Modbus/RS-485/CAN protocols. Renewable energy exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Electrical, Chemical or Controls.
• 6–12 years of experience implementing control systems for continuous chemical processing, industrial automation, or power systems.
• 3+ years of experience in any programming language (C, Python, MATLAB).
• Knowledge of supervisory control strategies for real-time optimization.
• Understanding of process dynamics and advanced regulatory control (cascade, feedforward, ratio control).
• Familiar with industrial protocols such as Modbus, RS-485 and CAN.
• Knowledge of IEC 61511 or similar certification standards is a plus.
• Prior experience in renewable energy or remote work is a plus.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E / M.E in Electrical, Chemical or Controls or equivalent specialization is required.
• Hands-on experience of 6 to 12 years in implementation of Control System for continuous chemical processing equipment or or industrial automation or power system is required.
• Experience of 3+ years in any programming language is required (C, Python, Matlab).
• Good understanding of supervisory control strategies for real-time optimization
• Good understanding of process dynamics and complex regulatory control strategies (sequencing, cascade, feed forward, ratio control)
• Good understanding of industrial communication protocols like Modbus, RS-485, CAN etc.
• Knowledge of Digital Control design a plus.
• Working knowledge in Python a plus.
• Good understanding of certification standards such as IEC 61511 or equivalent a plus.
• Previous experience in the renewable energy sector a plus
• Previous experience working remotely a plus.
