Qualifications

Role Overview

We are looking for a strong Individual Contributor (IC) with 5-8 years of experience in backend development. The ideal candidate should have solid expertise in Java-based technologies, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms, with a strong focus on building scalable and high-performance systems. The candidate should be comfortable working in an AI-assisted development environment using tools such as Cursor AI, GitHub Copilot, and Claude Code to improve engineering productivity. Working knowledge of frontend technologies such as React and Next.js.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Work with relational databases and caching systems for high-performance applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Ensure code quality through best practices, code reviews, and testing.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system reliability and performance.
• Work in a Linux-based environment and handle deployments using Docker.
• Maintain version control and follow CI/CD best practices.

Technical Skills (Must Have)

• Strong proficiency in Java 17+ and J2SE.
• Experience with Spring Boot and JPA (Hibernate).
• Strong understanding of REST API design and development.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL and SQL optimization.
• Experience with Redis for caching and performance tuning.
• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Proficiency in Git for version control.

AI-Assisted Development

• Hands-on experience using one or more AI coding assistants such as Cursor AI, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code.
• Ability to effectively leverage AI tools for code generation, refactoring, debugging, unit test generation, documentation, and productivity improvement.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is mandatory.
• Experience with AWS is good to have.

Good to Have

• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of system design and scalability patterns.
• Exposure to monitoring and logging tools.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
