Job summary

Full Cycle CFO is hiring a Staff Accountant to prepare US tax returns, maintain client books, and support monthly closings in a fully remote role. You’ll work with a global team focusing on healthcare, med spa, dental, SaaS clients and more, handling 1–3 years of accounting experience and a US tax season background.

The role offers remote flexibility and growth on a growing firm. Strong English communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Staff Accountant who has prepared US tax returns and has done hands-on bookkeeping work. Most of your time will go to individual and business returns, and you’ll also help keep client books accurate throughout the year. This is a full-time position. What You’ll Do

US tax preparation for clients, including:

• Prepare US federal and state returns: 1040, 1065 and 1120-S.
• Organize client documents and build supporting workpapers.
• Prepare extensions and quarterly estimates.
• Track missing items and follow up on open questions with the team.
• Categorize transactions and reconcile bank and credit card accounts in QBO and Xero.
• Support the monthly close by preparing journal entries, reviewing account balances and flagging anything that looks off.
• Help clean up books that are behind or disorganized before a return is prepared.
• Maintain clean documentation and workpapers to firm standards.

Team support

• Work with our Senior Accountant and US team to close financial periods and complete returns.
• Communicate quickly with the internal team via Slack, Loom, video conference, email, etc.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience, including at least 1 US tax season preparing returns.
• Hands-on bookkeeping experience in QBO and/or Xero, including reconciliations and transaction categorization.
• An understanding of how the books flow into the tax return.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Clear written English, and comfort asking questions when something doesn’t add up.
• A positive, helpful and can-do attitude.
• Ability to overlap at least 5 hours with US Eastern Time each workday.

What’s Nice to Have

• EA, CPA or CA, or currently working toward one.
• Drake Tax experience.
• Experience with healthcare, med spa, dental or SaaS clients.

Compensation:

$750–$1,200 USD per month, depending on experience.
