Job summary

Mizuho Pune is seeking an AVP/Associate-level Data Engineer with strong Python, SQL, ETL, SSIS, PowerShell and Shell scripting skills. You will support Front Office IT by building robust data integration and automation solutions and enterprise batch workflows, including experience with Tidal/Autosys.

Ideal candidates have 5–12+ years in data engineering within financial services, a CS/engineering degree, and the ability to work in Pune, India.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of data engineering experience in financial services or enterprise data environments.
• Strong hands-on skills in Python, SQL, ETL and enterprise scheduling.
• Experience with SSIS, PowerShell and shell scripting; knowledge of Snowflake beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust ETL/data integration pipelines using SSIS and Python.
• Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures and data transformation logic.
• Build automation scripts using Python, PowerShell and shell scripting.

The Banking IT team within the Front Office Technology is responsible for technology platforms, applications, support, and development aligned with the needs of the Investment Banking function while maintaining operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic partnership with the broader IT organization.

Summary:

We are looking for an experienced AVP/Associate-level Data Engineer with strong expertise in Python, SQL, ETL, SSIS, PowerShell and Shell scripting, along with experience in enterprise job scheduling using Tidal/Autosys. The role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing data integration and automation solutions supporting critical business applications for Front Office IT.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain robust ETL/data integration pipelines using SSIS and Python.


• Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures and data transformation logic.


• Build automation scripts using Python, PowerShell and Shell scripting.


• Develop and maintain batch processing and enterprise scheduling workflows. Knowledge of Tidal/Autosys is a plus.


• Monitor production jobs, investigate failures and implement permanent fixes.


• Perform data validation, reconciliation and quality checks across source and target systems.


• Optimize ETL processes and SQL queries for performance and scalability.


• Support production deployments, incident management and technical documentation.


• Work with application, infrastructure and business teams to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.


• Follow enterprise standards for coding, documentation, testing, security and change management.

Qualifications:

• 5-12+ years of experience in data engineering within financial services or enterprise data environments.


• Must be legally authorized to work in India without employer sponsorship.


• Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.


• Strong hands-on experience with Python, Python, SQL, ETL, SSIS, PowerShell and Shell scripting.


• Advanced SQL and Python skills; working knowledge of Snowflake is a plus.


• Experience with enterprise batch processing and scheduling.


• Strong understanding of data processing, ETL architecture and database concepts.


• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.


• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
