MTS Silicon Design Engineer
We are looking for a talented engineer to design, verify and validate cutting-edge SRAM circuits, memory compilers and related hardware for AMD’s graphics processor IP.
The Role
The focus of this role is to plan, build, and execute the verification of new and existing features for AMD’s graphics processor IP, resulting in no bugs in the final design.
The Person
You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player with excellent communication skills, experience collaborating with engineers across different sites and time zones, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand new features.
- Design and develop cutting edge SRAM circuits, memory compilers, including circuit design, timing, and power characterization.
- Build design and test plan documentation, accounting for interactions with other features, hardware, firmware, verification, and software use cases.
- Perform simulation, modeling, and analysis to ensure compliance with performance and reliability specifications.
- Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including design reports, validation results, and test summaries.
- Support validation and debugging of SRAM/analog and mixed‑signal circuits during development and post‑silicon phases.
- Drive continuous improvement of design methodologies, tools, and workflows.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and share best practices.
- Convert design ideas to patents and publications.
- Review and brainstorm issues by frequent collaboration with team members and cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Experience
- Masters in EE/EC/CS/Microelectronics/VLSI design from a reputed university with 8+ years of experience in SRAM circuit designs and/or memory compiler/CMOS circuit design.
- Experienced SRAM circuit design engineer with in‑depth knowledge of circuit design basics.
- Proficiency in circuit simulation tools such as SPICE, Cadence, or equivalent EDA platforms.
- Experience in advanced technology nodes like TSMC 7nm and below.
- Advanced knowledge of timing and power characterization methodologies.
- Strong experience across multiple technology nodes is an added advantage.
- Fluency in RTL debug and scripting is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication skills essential, as the role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams located internationally.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently and manage complex technical challenges.
Academic Credentials
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering.
