HuntingCube is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to own quality testing within the squad for periodic releases. The role emphasizes functional testing, defect coordination, and testing process improvements, with automation knowledge as a plus.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and maintain comprehensive test cases, execute tests, and validate fixes, contributing to overall product quality and timely releases.

Qualifications

Job Description

Job Purpose As a Senior Test Engineer, you will take ownership of quality testing activities within the squad to support periodic releases. The role primarily focuses on functional testing, testing processes, application support, regression testing, incident and defect fix validation, and stakeholder coordination, with automation knowledge as an added advantage. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, execute and maintain comprehensive test cases, coordinate defects, prepare testing reports, and proactively identify quality risks early in the development process.

Key Responsibilities

Understand and apply testing standards and processes throughout project delivery. Apply approved quality testing practices to demonstrate that software applications meet business and functional requirements and are fit for purpose. Collaborate with squad members to define, execute, document, and maintain test cases. Understand requirements and acceptance criteria and create comprehensive test cases, test scenarios, automation tests, and test data. Perform functional testing and support application testing activities. Execute regression testing and validate fixes for incidents and defects. Log and manage defects identified during test execution, track them to closure in a timely manner, and participate in defect triage meetings. Liaise with Business Analysts, Developers, and SMEs to understand requirements/user stories and identify gaps early in the Software Development Lifecycle. Source the test data required for test execution based on identified test scenarios and test cases by working with the requisite teams. Prepare testing artifacts, including test plans and test reports, based on defined scope and deliverables. Work with the Test Lead/Test Manager on test strategy and coordination with relevant teams. Contribute to the collection of evidence and the conduct of formal audits or reviews of activities. Take ownership of project update reports such as DSR and WSR. Work collaboratively within the squad and wider delivery teams during the development of new features and enhancements. Provide input to the Test Lead/Test Manager for estimation of testing activities. Execute and maintain regression testing across various test environments to support the release management process and test environment health checks. Carry out automation activities where required, including maintaining and debugging automation scripts. Execute and maintain API and UI-based test automation packs on ADO CI/CD pipelines where required. Carry out any other duties reasonably requested from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Prior experience working in an Agile development environment or strong knowledge of Agile development processes. 5-8 years of relevant experience. Must-Have Skills Strong hands-on experience in functional testing. Good understanding of testing processes and application support. Experience in regression testing and validating fixes for incidents and defects. Strong stakeholder communication and coordination skills. Basic or practical automation knowledge is an added advantage.

Technical Skills

Experience across different testing types, including: Functional Testing UI Testing API Testing Database Testing Intermediate SQL skills, with the ability to write and execute SQL queries for database verification. Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), test management tools, test automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines. Hands-on experience in writing, executing, and debugging automated scripts using Playwright or Selenium; C# preferred. Strong experience with API Automation - Must Have. Experience in Mobile Automation using tools such as Appium, Perfecto, etc. Experience in Windows-based application automation - Desired. Experience working in large-scale and complex environments is advantageous. Important: This is not a heavily automation-focused role. The primary focus is on functional testing, testing processes, application support, regression testing, validating fixes for incidents and defects, and stakeholder communication and coordination. Automation knowledge is an added advantage.
