Job summary

Clarion Technologies in Pune, India, is seeking a skilled SQL DBA to manage and optimize our SQL Server databases. You will develop database objects, implement data integrity rules, and monitor performance to ensure high availability.

The role requires strong skills in query optimization, backups, recovery, security against SQL Injection, and mentoring junior team members. Excellent communication is essential for collaborating with management and development teams.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in SQL Server development and DBA activities.
• Proficient in query tuning and performance optimization.
• Experience with backups, recovery and high availability strategies.
• Ability to write secure code to prevent SQL Injection.
• Good communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Create database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, Triggers etc.
• Work over schema objects and implementing rules for data integrity in the project.
• Writing server-side PL/SQL and client-side procedural code that use SQL statements.
• Be aware of potential Long Running queries, blocking, deadlocking and write code to avoid those situations.
• Endure that the code is written keeping in mind any security issues such as SQL Injection.
• Develops Complex reports from the databases as requested by management.
• Identify and write best possible code in case of new deployments or when rewriting code.
• Participate in discussions involving the project creation and understand the requirements and provide the back-end functionality for the applications.
• SQL Database monitoring using RadGate tool, Sentry, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Good in Database Migrations, performance tuning especially tuning complex queries, procedure and indexing strategies.
• Ability to develop database objects like Stored Procs, Functions, Packages, Triggers, using SQL & PL/SQL.
• Expertise in the creation of databases, table spaces, tables, indexes, users, grants, etc.
• Mentoring the less experienced team members and highlighting best practices.
• Evaluate Relation databases other than MSSQL features and products.
• Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures to avoid minimum data loss.
• Helping clients to develop the latest state-of-the-art databases that are fit for purpose.
• Giving expert advice on SQL optimization, and other Database performance issues.
• Setup and maintain documentation and standards.
• Basic knowledge of Database Administrator activity as well related to permission and other.
• Expertise in perform Database maintenance activity to make database more operational.
• Good Working Experience in database tools like SSMS, Profiler, Toad, SSIS and etc.
• Good Written and Spoken Communication skills.
