Job summary

Genpact in India is seeking a Sr. Specialist - F&A (R2R) to lead the end-to-end Record to Report process and drive close accuracy for multiple entities. You will manage GL integrity, fixed assets, intercompany activity, and statutory reporting while aligning with global standards.

You will oversee onshore/offshore accountants, ensure policy training, and collaborate with finance leaders to optimize controls, automation, and KPI tracking in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Accounting, Commerce, Economics or Finance.
• Masters in Finance or professional certifications are a plus.
• CAMS/CCO/CFA/CPA/CRCM are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete R2R process including journal entries, GL, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Lead and manage a team of accountants/analysts (onshore/offshore) with coaching and performance reviews.
• Ensure timely financial closings (monthly, quarterly, yearly) and alignment with GAAP/IFRS and internal controls.
• Coordinate with external auditors and internal audit teams for SOX/compliance.
• Maintain chart of accounts and GL integrity; review entries, accruals and reclassifications.
• Oversee intercompany transactions and fixed asset lifecycle management.

Job Description

• Manage the complete R2R process, including journal entries, general ledger (GL), fixed assets, intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Ensure the timely and accurate execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings. Align R2R processes with global standards, accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), and internal controls.
• Lead and manage a team of accountants or finance analysts (onshore/offshore). Oversee task allocation, productivity, and team development through regular coaching and performance reviews. Ensure team members are trained on accounting policies, systems, and processes.
• Ensure accurate preparation of financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders. Oversee statutory reporting, regulatory submissions, and compliance with SOX or other audit requirements. Coordinate with external auditors and internal audit teams during financial and operational reviews.
• Manage GL integrity, including review and approval of journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications. Oversee month‑end and year‑end close activities to ensure timely financial consolidation. Maintain and monitor chart of accounts for accuracy and consistency across entities.
• Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of intercompany transactions and balances. Oversee the lifecycle management of fixed assets – acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, and disposal.
• Supervise the preparation and review of balance sheet account reconciliations. Ensure proper documentation and resolution of reconciling items. Monitor internal control effectiveness and ensure audit readiness.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process standardization, automation (e.g., BlackLine, RPA), and efficiency. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to transformation programs. Maintain up-to-date documentation of R2R processes, SOPs, and workflows.
• Act as the point of contact for finance leaders, controllers, and business units for R2R service delivery. Collaborate with other finance towers (P2P, O2C), tax, treasury, and IT to ensure end‑to‑end financial process alignment. Conduct regular governance meetings and service reviews with key stakeholders.
• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as close cycle time, reconciliation accuracy, and reporting timeliness. Analyze trends, exceptions, and SLA performance to drive improvements. Present insights and dashboards to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, SOX controls, and global accounting standards. Support risk assessments and implement corrective actions for identified gaps. Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all financial activities.
