Job summary

Avient Corporation based in Vashere/Pune seeks a Senior Specialist to support the EMEA monthly close, intercompany reconciliations, and audits. The role collaborates with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal and Corporate Accounting on regional projects.

The position involves supervising reconciliations, preparing FI invoices, payroll and VAT postings, and supporting auditors in a hybrid work environment with Europe shift hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Strong organizational skills and resilience.
• Working knowledge of SAP is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise intercompany reconciliations.
• Monitor aging intercompany receivables and challenge partners on overdue payments.
• Prepare FI invoices for EMEA region, especially costs reallocation and royalties.
• Post loan interest entries for all EMEA entities.
• Post monthly payroll journal entries.
• Post monthly VAT entries and assist statutory team with VAT reconciliations.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors for Avient's audit.
• Support regional and corporate initiatives.
• Handle other projects as required.

Job description

Senior Specialist, based out of Vashere / Pune, is a key role supporting EMEA Region. This role has primary responsibility for preparation and support of various aspects of the monthly close process and managing audits and other ad-hoc projects for the region.
This role faces several key customers as part of both daily responsibilities and as part of project teams, including Finance, Business Unit Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal and Corporate Accounting.
Shift and work model: Europe shift: 11 AM TO 8 PM IST with expected flexibility throughout the month due to global support. Hybrid work from home.

Responsibilities

Supervise intercompany reconciliations.

Monitor aging intercompany receivables and challenge business partners on overdue payments in collaboration with India Team.

Prepare FI Invoices for EMEA Region, especially for Costs Reallocation and Royalties

Post loan interest entries for all EMEA entities.

Post monthly payroll journal entries.

Post monthly VAT entries and support the Statutory Team with reconciliations between VAT returns, sales data, and Intrastat reporting.

Completion of Balance sheet Reconciliation

Working with Internal and External Auditors to support Avient’s audit requirements

Support regional and corporate initiatives

Other projects according to business requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, Any other specialization in accounting

5 years + experience in accounting

Proficiency in written and spoken English

Organizational skills, a self-starter with high level of analytical skills and resilience

Working knowledge of SAP highly desirable
