Job summary

TE is seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer for its Bangalore site. You will drive ASPICE-compliant validation for automotive sensor software, manage hardware-in-the-loop benches, and lead AI-assisted test development.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams across India and France to ensure high-quality deliverables. The role demands strong test planning, automation, and data-driven analysis, with a focus on conformance testing of CAN, LIN, and other automotive protocols.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in software & electronics.
• Experience in test planning, strategy and processes.
• 3+ years in SW testing and validation.
• Experience with ALM tools (DOORS, Polarion, etc.).
• Automotive ASPICE and IATF 16949 knowledge.
• Configuration management with Git/GitLab.
• HW-in-the-loop testing and conformance testing of protocols.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute test plan and strategy.
• Create test specifications and test cases for software and customer specs.
• Review test specs, code and coverage.
• Configure and run test cases on hardware-in-the-loop benches.
• Execute manual tests using EE equipment.
• Create and maintain test scripts and libraries.
• Ensure ASPICE processes are created and applied.
• Conformance testing of CAN j1939, LIN, SENT, IIC, SPI.
• Generate test reports for customer exchanges; communicate results.
• Get responsibility for the software lab; maintain benches and propose improvements.
• Drive AI-enabled validation improvements and data-driven analysis.
• Provide technical support to project teams.

Job Overview

You will be part of the growing transportation sensors software team which manages all our automotive sensor software developments. Following the last embedded software development rules defined by the automotive world, this team is implanted in India and works remotely with other project members based in France. As a particular motivational factor, your work will directly be used by the major car companies in the world. Concerning your specific activities, you will manage the ascending V-Cycle branch at the SW qualification level on our Bangalore site to verify the conformity of our SW products before delivery.

Job Requirements

• Define & execute the test plan and the test strategy
• Create test specifications / test cases related to software and customers specifications
• Review and assess test specification, code and coverage
• Configure and run test cases on hardware-in-the-loop test bench, including automation where applicable
• Execute manual test based on EE equipment (as scope, logical analyzer)
• Create and maintain test scripts and test libraries, leveraging automation where applicable
• Ensure ASPICE process creation and application
• Proceed to conformance testing of communication protocols
• Generate test reports for customer exchanges following our software development cycle in line with project requirements and validation outputs
• Assume communication of the test results to software developers, project and management
• Get the responsibility of the software laboratory:
  • maintain test benches
  • propose evolutions
  • propose investments and technical improvements
• Drive AI-enabled validation improvements:
  • Use AI-assisted tools (e.g., Copilot or similar) for test case creation, automation, and documentation
  • Apply data-driven approaches for test result analysis and defect trend identification
  • Contribute to improving validation productivity through automation and AI-assisted workflows
• Provide technical support on project needs

• English language is mandatory at professional level
