Job summary

AspenTech is seeking a Senior Software Quality Engineer to join the Product Quality team in Pune, India. You will own functional and non-functional testing for the Inmation Data Fabric suite, collaborating with frontend and backend developers and Product Management to embed quality throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least four years of experience as a Software Developer or Software Developer in Test.
• Ability to design, develop, and enhance test frameworks.
• Experience with cloud deployments and virtualization technologies.

The Role

This is an opportunity to join our growing Product Quality team as a Senior Software Quality Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for functional and non functional testing (including performance and automation testing) of the AspenTech Inmation Data Fabric products. You will work closely with front end and back end software developers and Product Management to gather functional requirements, understand system behaviour, and proactively drive quality best practices throughout the product lifecycle.

Your Impact

Deliver high‑quality software by designing and executing manual and automated tests, including test environments, installations, upgrades, and configurations, in accordance with technical specifications. Develop, enhance, and maintain test automation frameworks to improve test efficiency, reliability, and coverage. Design and perform unit, integration, end‑to‑end, and performance testing in an iterative, agile development environment. Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand project goals and expectations. Drive test automation across API, UI, system, and integration layers using technologies such as MSTest, C#, Lua, PowerShell, Cypress, and Selenium. Maintain and execute performance, scalability, and stress tests. Share knowledge and best practices by participating in code reviews and pair programming. Work effectively both as an individual contributor and as part of a collaborative team in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least four years of experience as a Software Developer or Software Developer in Test.
• Strong ability and willingness to design, develop, and enhance test frameworks, not just use existing ones.
• Advanced knowledge of at least one modern operating system.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Understanding of cloud deployments; familiarity with different deployment infrastructure and virtualization technologies.
• Basic knowledge of networking, databases, servers, communication protocols, and information security concepts.
• A strong willingness and curiosity to learn new technologies and skills.
