Job summary

Amazon is seeking experienced software engineers to build and maintain the core tax calculation and invoicing platform powering a global e-commerce ecosystem. You will work on high-throughput, compliant transactions across diverse marketplaces, ensuring precision in a dynamic regulatory landscape.

The role involves designing, implementing, and operating distributed systems with a focus on performance, security, and cost efficiency, within an agile team that values collaboration and engineering

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Our team builds the core tax calculation and invoicing platform that ensures accurate, compliant transactions across global marketplaces - covering sales tax, VAT, and tax invoicing for physical and digital products.

Preferred Technical Foundation

• Good experience with object-oriented programming languages
