Job summary

Zinnia seeks a Senior Engineer to lead the next‑generation infrastructure for data storage, analytics, streams processing, and more, including Kubernetes compute infrastructure. You will collaborate across teams to design scalable systems that serve business needs.

You will mentor engineers, drive best practices, and help shape the technology strategy, emphasizing distributed systems, API design, and platform‑level solutions at scale.

Qualifications

• BS/BE in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and algorithmic solutions.
• 5+ years of experience programming in object‑oriented languages such as Java.
• 2+ years of experience as an architect or technical leadership position.
• Proficiency in Spring Framework.
• Hands‑on experience developing large‑scale distributed systems, databases.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Experience with orchestration platforms such as Camunda is a plus.

As part of our software engineering team, you will lead the next‑generation infrastructure and platforms for Zinnia, including scalable data storage infrastructure, analytics platform, streams processing and data pipelines, search platform, AI/ML infrastructure, Kubernetes compute infrastructure, document storage infrastructure, and more. You will work among the best, applying your passion for distributed technologies, API design, systems design, and large‑scale coding. We use Kubernetes, GRPC, GraphQL, and other open‑source technologies. As a Senior Engineer, you will be a key technical leader and role model, designing and developing technology to serve business and technology objectives, aligning viewpoints across teams, and making trade‑offs to meet goals at both team and company levels. You will foster Zinnia’s culture and values of boldness, teamwork, and value delivery, working closely with leadership and management to build core systems infrastructure.

• 7+ years of experience in an object‑oriented language such as Java.
• 5+ years with large‑scale distributed systems and client‑server architectures.
• Experience architecting large‑scale distributed systems related to data infrastructure, Kubernetes, and platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
