Job summary

Zinnia is seeking a Software Engineer III to design, develop, and maintain its front‑end platforms. You will build a reusable UI framework with modern tools (Node.js, React, TypeScript) and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable, high‑quality experiences for life and annuity products.

You will work with teams to implement accessible, cross‑browser interfaces using Tailwind, Radix‑UI or similar, and contribute to testing, CI/CD, and ongoing improvements.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of software development experience.
• Full‑stack development with Node.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Experience with Express, Next.js or similar frameworks.
• Relational databases with ORMs and query builders.
• Headless UI libraries like Radix‑UI or Amplify‑UI.
• CSS and frameworks Tailwind CSS and Stitches.
• Chromatic, BrowserStack, Puppeteer, React Testing Library experience.
• CI/CD and test automation experience.
• Strong web accessibility knowledge.
• Cross-browser support and SPA concepts.
• Strategic thinking demonstrated.

WHO YOU ARE

Software Engineer III plays a key role in the design, development/configuration, unit testing, installation, and ongoing maintenance of Zinnia's software platforms. Software Engineers work with stakeholders to develop solutions and/or products that fulfill the needs of Zinnia internal stakeholders and clients, helping Zinnia and its clients to be more efficient and provide better service to end customers. Software Engineers interact directly with project leaders, business stakeholders, and may periodically interact directly with Zinnia clients.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Work as part of a team to create a reusable, predictable, and discoverable design and development framework allowing rapid, consistent, and maintainable front‑end UI development.
• Facilitate and execute the product’s vision for modern, frictionless, scalable, persona‑driven experiences, collectively resulting in the best end‑to‑end life & annuities solution in the industry today.
• Contribute to projects by creating well‑designed, customized, testable, efficient code for company platforms and assist teams in providing ongoing support, troubleshooting, and improvements to company platforms.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• 5–10 years of software development experience.
• Full‑stack developer with extensive experience in Node.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Experience with Express, Next.js or similar web frameworks.
• Experience working with relational databases using ORMs and query builders.
• Experience with headless component libraries such as Radix‑UI or Amplify‑UI.
• Experience with CSS and CSS frameworks like Tailwind CSS and Stitches.
• Experience with tools such as Chromatic, BrowserStack, Puppeteer, and React Testing Library.
• Experience with CI/CD and test automation.
• Solid understanding of web accessibility.
• Understanding of cross‑browser support and single‑page application concepts.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking skills.
• Highly effective communication, interpersonal, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
