Job summary

Zinnia is seeking a Sr Software Engineer to drive the API-first identity and access management layer for Life & Annuities solutions. You will work on a scalable CIAM platform, design policy frameworks, and deliver enterprise-grade API solutions

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to extend capabilities, guide junior engineers, and ensure secure, compliant API governance across internal and external services.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience using TypeScript frameworks like NestJS.
• Experience implementing OAuth, SAML, and OpenID Connect protocols.
• Experience building industry-standard APIs with governance and versioning.
• Familiarity with AWS services and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement API policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Develop enterprise API solutions using Kong or similar platforms.
• Mentor junior developers and ensure timely delivery of API projects.
• Integrate CIAM solutions for internal and external APIs.

WHO YOU ARE

As a Sr Software Engineer, you will execute on the product’s vision for a modern, frictionless, scalable, API‑first and persona‑driven customer identity and access management system, delivering the best end‑to‑end Life & Annuities solution in the industry. You will partner with fellow engineers to create a reusable, predictable, and discoverable design and development framework for rapid, consistent, and maintainable customer authentication and authorization solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Design and implement API policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Develop enterprise API solutions using an industry‑leading API platform (Kong).
• Help junior developers implement enterprise API solutions correctly and in a timely manner.
• Integrate the enterprise CIAM solution for all internal and external APIs.
• Collaborate with the CIAM team to extend its capability to serve our clients.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of software development experience using TypeScript frameworks like NestJS.
• Working knowledge of implementing OAuth, SAML, and OpenID Connect protocols.
• Experience building industry‑standard APIs.
• Experience in API governance, versioning, and API APM.
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, etc.
• Working knowledge of common DevOps tasks (environment provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, and application monitoring).
• Excellent work ethic, ability to work and travel independently, and effective strategic thinking skills.
• Expert communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills, as well as troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to influence, lead, and work as part of a cross‑functional, distributed team.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
