Job summary

Coupa in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to scale a multi-tenant SaaS platform. You will own backend Java/Spring Boot microservices and frontend React interfaces, delivering robust, secure features for large procurement workloads.

Qualifications

Role Overview

At a technical level, your team provides the backbone, infrastructure support, and intuitive user interfaces for mission-critical customer environments. Within the Direct Procurement unit, you ll collaborate across software products with engineers globally to plan and deploy product releases that redefine how businesses manage their supply chains. Your work ensures that our global end-to-end systems remain performant, secure, user-friendly, and capable of managing complex spend at a massive scale.

Responsibilities

• As a Full Stack Senior Software Engineer, you will help scale the Coupa platform as we expand, finding the right balance between the power of our consolidated codebase, the agility of dynamic front-end frameworks, and the flexibility of modern microservices.
• Architect Build: Collaborate with Product and Development teams to build new full-stack features, from elegant, responsive user interfaces to robust backend solutions.
• Mentor Lead: Offer advice and review the designs and implementations of others. You will act as a technical mentor, systematically breaking down information to level up the engineering team.
• Scale Systems UI: Design and implement robust Java and Spring Boot microservices while simultaneously building consistent, scalable front-end interfaces handling high-concurrency procurement workflows.
• Cloud Agnostic Strategy: Leverage your understanding of multiple hyper-scalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) to build platform-agnostic solutions that ensure high availability and vendor flexibility.
• Full Lifecycle Ownership: Lead the upgrade, enhancement, maintenance, and consumption of both core backend services and frontend architectures to ensure long-term platform health

What You Will Bring to Coupa

• Java Ecosystem: 6+ years of professional experience in Java Backend development.
• React Mastery: 3+ years of professional experience with React.js, including deep knowledge of Hooks, Context API, and state management (Redux, Recoil, or React Query).
• Microservices Mastery: Proven track record in Microservices architecture and Spring Boot.
• Language Framework: Advanced proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript (ES6+), with React as the primary framework.
• API Excellence: Extensive experience in OpenAPI, RESTful service development, and managing the full API lifecycle-including upgrades, enhancements, maintenance, and consumption strategies.
• Modern CSS UI: Expert proficiency in CSS3, HTML5, responsive design principles, and hands‑on experience with MUI (Material UI) or similar component libraries to build consistent, scalable interfaces.
• Engineering Principles: Strong Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and analysis skills with a deep understanding of common design patterns.
• Testing: Strong hands‑on experience with Jest and React Testing Library.
• Cloud Proficiency: Deep understanding of multiple hyper-scalers (AWS, Azure, etc.) and experience building platform-agnostic applications.
• ERP Systems: Strong understanding of ERP landscapes (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and how they interface with procurement platforms.
• Data Management: Strong MySQL and general database knowledge, including performance tuning and query optimization.
• Workflow: Expert‑level proficiency with GitHub for version control, code reviews, and collaborative development.
• Direct Sourcing: Prior experience in Direct Sourcing, BOM is a major added advantage.
• AI Innovation: Interest or experience in integrating AI/LLM capabilities into enterprise backend services to automate procurement intelligence.
• SaaS Background: Experience developing and maintaining large-scale, multi‑tenant SaaS products.
