Job summary

Arcana is seeking a seasoned senior backend engineer to build and optimize compute and I/O-intensive applications in Python. You will design scalable architectures, tackle high concurrency, and ensure performance and reliability across complex backend systems.

The role requires a strong CS foundation, experience with Redis, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse, and familiarity with CI/CD practices. Fintech exposure is a plus, and collaboration with product teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of backend development experience with Python in production.
• Proven experience in scaling compute and I/O-intensive applications.
• Strong foundation in CS with data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
• Experience handling concurrent requests at scale and optimising large-scale systems for performance and reliability.
• Familiarity with Redis, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse.
• Experience in the financial sector, particularly in fintech, is a plus, along with CI/CD practices.
