Job summary

Amgen in Hyderabad is seeking a Senior Scrum Master to serve as a servant leader for a Product Team, enabling focus, applying Lean and SAFe practices, removing blockers, and guiding the team toward high performance and predictable delivery.

You will partner with the Product Owner to drive PI planning, track team metrics, coach multiple agile teams globally, and foster communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the ARTs.

Qualifications

• SAFe knowledge and software/Agile process improvement focus.
• Experience in SAFe Scrum Master role and agile coaching.
• Strong educational background in Information Systems with 8–13 years in IT/IS.

Responsibilities

• Lead and run multiple scrums and projects.
• Facilitate Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Serve as a servant leader and coach for Product and Platform teams.
• Create an environment where the team can stay focused.
• Educate the team on Lean and SAFe practices like Scrum.
• Remove roadblocks and impediments to progress.
• Support the Product Owner in backlog management and team guidance.
• Strengthen cross-team communication within the ART.
• Track team metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
• Guide the team toward self-management and success.
• Continuously learn and improve as Scrum Master, participate in Communities of Practice.
• Coordinate scrum cadences with multiple teams globally.

What you will do

Let's do this. Let's change the world. In this vital role you will servant leader and coach for a Product Team. The role cultivates an environment where the team can stay focused with limited disruption from outside impacts, enables the team to effectively use Lean and SAFe Agile practices, removes roadblocks to progress, facilitates Agile events. In partnership with the Product Owner, the Scrum Master tracks team metrics, and guides the team towards becoming successful.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Leading/running multiple scrums and projects.
• Facilitate team events such as Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Act as a servant leader and coach for and within Product and Platform teams
• Develop an environment where the team can stay focused
• Educate the team about Lean and SAFe Agile practices like Scrum
• Remove roadblocks and impediments to team progress
• Support the Product Owner in handling the backlog and guiding the team
• Strengthen communication and collaborations teams, especially those on the Agile Release Train (ART)
• Track team metrics and find ways to improve team performance
• Guide the team towards becoming a successful and self-managing unit
• Continuously learn and improve as a Scrum Master to better support the team's success, including participation in Amgen Communities of Practice
• Run scrum cadences working with multiples teams across the globe.
• Ensure coordination between teams for timely delivery.

Basic Qualifications:

• Deep knowledge and expertise in SAFe. Combine technical knowledge of SAFe with a motivation to improve software, systems, and Agile business processes.
• Jira hands on experience including work management and reporting
• Expert in driving PI planning events with support of Release Train Engineer in ART set up
• Excellent Project Management, People Management and Leadership skills in a software Development environment.
• Education and Professional Certifications Master's degree / Bachelor's degree and 8 to 13 years of experience in Information Systems
• SAFe Scrum Master certification is required.
