Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate agile events including stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, demos and backlog refinement.
• Coach product teams in understanding and applying Agile principles and practices.
• Refine and prioritize the backlog with Product Owners to deliver high-value outcomes.
• Resolve conflicts and remove impediments hindering progress; escalate risks as needed.
• Support scaling Agile with PI planning and ART objectives for program alignment.

The Sr. Associate Scrum Master will support AI & Data Organization at Amgen.

About The Role

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead and facilitate agile events including stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, demos and backlog refinement meetings to promote team collaboration.
• Guide and Coach product teams in understanding and applying Agile frameworks principles and practices.
• Work with Product Owners to refine and prioritize the backlog ensuring the team delivers high-value outcomes aligned with business objectives.
• Resolve conflicts and remove impediments hindering team’s progress. Escalate risks and cross-Team dependency to ensure that they are addressed in a timely manner.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Teams by leading retrospectives, encouraging innovation, promoting Agile engineering practices and DevOps culture.
• Monitor and report on the progress of the Team ensuring transparency and alignment with Sprint goals and Team objectives.
• Help the scrum teams achieve delivery acceleration focused on business outcomes by reaching higher levels of scrum maturity.
• Support scaling Agile by engaging in cross-team ceremonies and Program Increment (PI) planning to align team activities with Agile Release Train (ART) objectives.

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s OR Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering field and 5 to 9 years of relevant experience

Must-Have Skills

• Certified Scrum Master or SAFe Scrum Master or similar (mandatory)
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies
• Prior experience with Agile project management tools, such as Jira, Confluence and Jira Align
• Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection and other Scrum Techniques
• Collaborative spirit and effective communication skills to work seamlessly in a cross-functional team
• Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

Good-to-Have Skills

• Good understanding of DevOps and Test Automation Processes in software delivery.
• Certified SAFe Practitioner (preferred)

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills (English) in translating technology content into business-language at various levels
• Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams
