Job summary

HERE Technologies is a global location data and technology platform company headquartered in the USA with a diverse, multi-national workforce. This Sr R&D Test Engineer II role focuses on validating HERE HD Map and Base Map solutions, with emphasis on geospatial data quality and large-scale testing.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to design test scenarios and execute end-to-end validation across complex data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Approximately 3 to 6 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or a related discipline.
• Experience with manual testing methodologies and exposure to test automation concepts.
• Working knowledge of Python for scripting, test development, or automation support.
• Familiarity with SQL and data validation techniques.
• Understanding of SDLC, Agile development practices, and quality engineering principles.
• Experience working with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills within global and cross-functional teams.
• Interest in geospatial technologies, HD Maps, GIS concepts, or related location-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute functional, regression, and product-level validation activities for HERE's HD Map and Base Map solutions.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to understand requirements, define test scenarios, and validate product quality.
• Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test datasets that support comprehensive product validation.
• Support manual testing activities and contribute to the continuous adoption of test automation capabilities.
• Investigate, document, and track defects using quality management and issue-tracking tools.
• Validate geospatial data pipelines and datasets, including data ingestion, transformation, and output verification activities.
• Analyze test results, identify inconsistencies, recommend improvements, and help strengthen testing processes and quality practices.

As a Sr R&D Test Engineer II, you will contribute to the validation and quality assurance of HERE's HD Map and related geospatial solutions.
