Job summary

Jeppesen ForeFlight, Inc. in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Project Accounting Leader to supervise the Project Accountant, coach on performance, and ensure accurate monthly billing and revenue recognition prior to closing.

You will coordinate across time zones with Sweden and US teams, oversee month-end close and reconciliations, and drive process improvements while maintaining strong internal controls to support financial reporting integrity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or similar field.
  • 6+ years of project/cost accounting experience, including supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle ERP and subledger workflows.
  • Experience in SaaS/enterprise software environments preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication across geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Project Accountant, including workload management and performance feedback.
  • Review monthly billing, revenue recognition, journal entries, and reconciliations for accuracy prior to closing.
  • Ensure documentation standards are audit-ready across regions.
  • Coordinate month-end close activities across time zones to ensure a smooth close.
  • Serve as liaison between India-based team and Sweden/US accounting teams.
  • Oversee project revenue and costs in month-end close and validate results.
  • Lead process improvements and ensure internal controls in line with company guidelines.

Job description

Cross-Regional Liaison


  • Serve as the primary internal liaison between the India-based project accounting team, Project Managers in Sweden, and accounting teams in Sweden and the US.

  • Coordinate month-end close activities and deadlines across time zones to ensure a smooth, well-communicated close process.

  • Resolve questions on project revenue, costs, and account support, escalating appropriately when needed.


Project Accounting & Month-End Oversight


  • Oversee monthly billing and revenue recognition in the project accounting module, and perform final validation of project revenue and costs as part of month-end close.

  • Review account reconciliations for project-related balance sheet accounts, ensuring balances and reconciling items are clearly documented, supported, and reperformable.

  • Critically question balances that are not supported or are significantly aged, and drive resolutions to closure.

  • Ensure significant project-related variances are clearly explained in a way that provides valuable insight and supports the accuracy of financial reporting.


Process Improvement & Business Support


  • Lead and support ad-hoc process improvement projects across project accounting, partnering with FP&A, IT, and Project Managers.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on the Oracle Projects module, identifying missing capabilities or data fields to improve management reporting and financial reporting accuracy.

  • Design, document, and maintain effective internal controls and processes to ensure system integrity and compliance with Company guidelines as the organization scales.

  • Provide insight and data to drive decision-making as the Company scales operations, implements new systems, and streamlines processes.


Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or similar field.

  • 6+ years of project/cost accounting experience, including prior experience reviewing or supervising the work of others, preferably in a SaaS or enterprise software environment.

  • Working knowledge of Oracle ERP (or other comparable system), subledger accounting, and workflows of Projects, Costs, Accounts Receivable, etc. transactions.

  • Track record of building or significantly improving accounting processes in a high-growth, fast-paced environment where infrastructure did not previously exist.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience working with Project Managers and other cross-functional teams across geographies.

  • Comfortable working across time zones with colleagues in Sweden and the US, with flexibility to accommodate overlapping working hours as needed.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Experience with US and Swedish GAAP, and knowledge of related accounting principles/theories and concepts (e.g. SOX).


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with the Oracle Projects module.

  • Prior formal people-management or review/supervisory experience within an accounting team.

  • Experience in global financial operations and/or international financial reporting.

  • Experience partnering with teams in Sweden and/or the US.
