Job summary

Jord International in Hyderabad is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer (Gas Treating) to lead the complete design lifecycle for gas treating packages both offshore and onshore, including FPSOs.

The role covers tender, basic, detailed design, bid support, and commissioning with strong focus on safety and reliability. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Process or Chemical Engineering.
• 8–12 years in design/engineering of Process Packages and Heat Transfer in Oil & Gas.
• Experience with offshore/onshore gas treating and FPSOs preferred.
• Proficient in HAZOP, design reviews, and client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across all design phases for gas treating packages.
• Develop design philosophies, PFDs, Heat & Mass Balance, and P&IDs.
• Prepare datasheets, hydraulics, PSV sizing, and depressurizing simulations.
• Prepare operation, control and safeguarding philosophy and memoranda.
• Review vendor documents and bid analysis; ensure contractual compliance.
• Coordinate process with mechanical teams and post-order activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
• Stay updated with product enhancements and customer impact.

Job Title – Sr. Process Engineer (Gas Treating)

Job Description

The purpose of the Sr.Process Engineer is to provide technical leadership and working with full range of project execution including all design phases (tender, basic design, detailed design), bid support, detailed design and commissioning for gas treating packages for both on and off shore (including FPSOs) Oil & Gas Industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise and working with full range of process side capabilities including all design phases (tender /basic design, detailed design), bid support and detailed design for gas treating.
• Develop design philosophies, engineering documents including PFD, Heat & Mass Balance and P&ID drawings
• Design calculations and preparation of Datasheets, Hydraulic calculations, PSV Sizing, Blow down & Depressurizing Simulations
• Preparation of Operation, Control and Safeguarding Philosophy, Control and Safeguarding Initiatives, Alarm & Trip
• Schedule, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Utility list, Valve and Instrument list and Line list
• Preparation of Plant Operation Manual & Safeguarding Memorandum
• Preparation of SIL documentation and attending HAZOP, 3D model & design review meetings
• Prepare equipment procurement specifications and engineering document templates
• Preparation & Issue of RFQs, Evaluation of vendor offers, clarifications, technical bid analysis and vendor document deliverables for compliance with contractual requirements
• Review of Vendor documents, drawings, data sheets, specifications and calculations
• Conduct peer review of engineering documents generated by the other process team members
• Participate in developmental activities such as grass root calculation spread sheets, standard format for equipment designs ad IT Programming development of local and web-based applications in order to minimize calculation time
• Promote cooperation and integration between process and mechanical divisions, particularly during post order to minimise miscommunication which will result in errors and re-work
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide recommendations
• Maintain technical knowledge by staying up to date with product enhancements, upgrades and understand the impact to new and existing customers
• To ensure proper division of work & responsibility among the process engineers, providing proper guidance & integration of work done, ensuring good, positive & healthy working nature among the team to ensure optimum productivity & efficiency

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Process or Chemical Engineering
• At least 8-12 years of professional experience in design and engineering of Process Packages and Heat Transfer solutions to O&G Industry like Gas Dehydration, Gas Sweetening (Amine based), Hydrocarbon Dew point, Condensate stabilisation, Sulphur/Mercury removal, and fuel gas conditioning skids in both on and off shore including FPSOs
• Good experience in Instrumentation and Control systems
• Hands on experience in software like HYSYS, Unisim, Promax.
• Proven Track record in attending and closing design review, HAZOP and SIL meeting with customer’s/end users in time to maintain the Project schedule.
• Advanced knowledge of process design, Heat Transfer technology, Gas Treatment/Separation and Pressure Vessel design codes, end user specifications like API, ASME, Shell DEP, PDO etc and the ability to read manufacturing drawings.
• A proactive and positive attitude focused on the development of the company’s business and the support of fellow staff throughout pre award and execution, working cooperatively and constructively within a culturally diverse team environment.
• Experience of estimation the Gas Treating skids
• Good English Communications skills
• Good knowledge of computing and MS Office and Excel, and presentation skills
• Focus on quality and provision of value to the company and our clients
• Experience on Shell/PDO projects will be added advantage
