Job summary

S&P Cappitech is seeking a client-focused professional to join the Cappitech Support and Operations team in India. The role requires analytical skills to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve regulatory reporting issues across regimes such as EMIR, MiFID II, SFTR, ASIC, MAS, CFTC, and SEC.

Strong communication and stakeholder management are essential to engage with clients and drive issue resolution. Prior experience in finance/fintech and knowledge of SQL and APIs will be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and understanding of APIs at an intermediate level.
  • Experience with Agile environments and project management processes.
  • Background in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline; knowledge of regulatory reporting regimes.

Responsibilities

  • Handle customer enquiries and requests with timely resolution.
  • Escalate issues and ensure proper follow-up per SLAs.
  • Support validation or UAT for issue resolution.
  • Contribute to client-specific projects as required.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify data issues.
  • Review data in formats like Excel, JSON, XML, FPML; map against specs and requirements.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and client-focused professional to join the S&P Cappitech Support and Operations team. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent analytical skills and the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues from identification through to delivery of a solution. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, address regulatory reporting inquiries, and resolve complex reporting issues in a timely manner. Experience with regulatory regimes such as EMIR, MiFID II, ASIC, MAS, CFTC, SEC, and SFTR is highly desirable. In addition, the candidate should have experience working in an Agile environment, with a solid understanding of project management processes, stakeholder communication, issue tracking, and driving actions to completion. They must be able to manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and take ownership of delivering successful outcomes for clients.

Duties and Accountabilities
  • Dealing with customer enquiries and requests and managing them efficiently and in a timely manner until resolution
  • Timely escalation of issues and ensuring proper follow-up until resolution.
  • Supporting validation or User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for issue resolution.
  • Contributing to client-specific projects as required.
  • Conducting Root Cause Analysis to identify the source of data inconsistencies.
  • Troubleshooting client inquiries and issues by reviewing data in various formats such as Excel files, JSON, XML, FPML messages, and comparing them against mapping sheets, technical specifications, and business requirements to resolve issues or identify system bugs.
  • Case Management by ensuring clients are responding within defined SLAs and case status and comments are updated for internal visibility.
  • Handling Production Incidents and collaborate with internal teams such as Product, Technology, CAM to understand the actual root cause and lead remediation to ensure clients data is correctly reported.
  • Deliver strong and concise messages to clients, protecting S&P, its clients, and reputational aspects of our services.
Education and Experience
  • Professional foundation in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in Agile environment, preferably as a Business Analyst or Product ownership role.
  • Preferably, completion or working towards FRM or CFA.
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and understanding of an API at an intermediate level.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial markets or fintech.
  • Understanding of the trade lifecycle across major financial asset classes including securities finance, exchange-traded, and OTC derivatives.
  • Familiarity with financial markets and Regulatory Reporting Regimes (SFTR/MiFID/EMIR/ASIC/MAS/CFTC).
  • Ability to comprehend technical concepts.
  • Competence in querying and extracting data from databases.
  • Knowledge of other vendor systems like ANNA, Reuters etc. is advantageous.
