Job Description

The Sr. Medical Officer will manage patient assessment, ward and emergency care, clinical decision support, consultant coordination, team guidance, treatment monitoring, and medical documentation at Shashwat Hospitals, Jamnagar. This requires MBBS, BHMS, or BAMS qualification with 3–5 years of hospital clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend OPD, IPD, emergency, ICU, ward, and assigned clinical patients during duty hours.
• Assess patient condition, review clinical history, and support diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Assist consultants during rounds, procedures, admissions, referrals, transfers, and discharges.
• Monitor vitals, lab reports, imaging reports, medication response, treatment progress, and clinical changes.
• Guide junior medical officers, nursing teams, and clinical support staff when required.
• Maintain case sheets, progress notes, prescriptions, discharge summaries, and handover documentation.
• Respond to emergency calls, stabilize patients, and escalate critical cases promptly.
• Coordinate with nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, ICU, OT, billing, and administration teams.
• Support patient admission, discharge, referral, and interdepartmental clinical coordination.
• Counsel patients and attendants professionally under consultant guidance.
• Follow hospital clinical protocols, infection control, patient safety, and documentation standards.
• Ensure safe, timely, ethical, and professional medical care delivery.
