Job summary

Standard Chartered seeks an experienced Agile Technology Manager in Bengaluru to drive strategy and delivery in the FM domain. You will shape technical design, lead development, and ensure robust governance, while collaborating with product owners and stakeholders to meet business objectives.

In this role, you will leverage Spring Boot, microservices, and design patterns to build scalable solutions, maintain high quality, and ensure production stability within an enterprise banking environment.

Qualifications

  • Engineer degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • MBA or Masters is a plus.
  • Experience with enterprise-grade tools and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Define technical design and development for the FM domain.
  • Follow agile processes across development and delivery.
  • Develop and coordinate with implementation teams for complex integrations.
  • Use ADO/Confluence for collaboration.
  • Remove roadblocks for the engineering team and manage risks.
  • Engage with Product Owners/Process Owners to ensure objectives are met.

Job description

Strategy
  • Develop a robust strategy for the FM domain leveraging automation with Spring Boot, microservices, and Java.
  • Establish a solid development baseline and robust code frameworks using Spring Boot, microservices, Design Patterns and Java.
  • Ensure the quality , timeliness and production stability of applications developed.

  • Contribute to the strategic goals of the organisation through the application of standard and latest technology (standardised enterprise grade tools, software, and frameworks).

Processes
  • Provide inputs, support and challenge process or operating model to constantly identify opportunities on simplification and delivery efficiency.
  • Define standards to ensure that applications are designed with scale, resilience, and performance in mind.
  • Enforce and streamline sound development practices and establish and maintain effective governance processes including training, advice, and support, to assure the platforms are developed, implemented, and maintained aligning with the Group’s standards
Risk Management
  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks for investment projects as well for new application build-out.
  • Identify / address key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
Governance
  • Awareness and understanding of the Group Technology Policy, Standards and Enterprise Risk management framework
  • Responsible for delivering ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge peers effectively; and Willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
  • Work with program management office and 2nd line of defence teams to ensure portfolio governance are well managed.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Effectively and collaboratively identify, elevate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Team Management
  • Removing roadblocks to engineering team’s work which includes liaising with dependant parties like interface teams;
  • Helping the development team avoid or remove impediments to progress / Mitigating and resolving risks and issues which may impair delivery.
  • Build relationships and partner with teams internal and external
Stakeholders management
  • Work closely with Product Owners and Process Owners and relevant stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet the project objectives
Qualifications
  • Engineer Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology
  • Masters or MBA is good to have
